Hello wise people of the forum! I’ve been dying to do a Halloween fan film for a while and honestly? I’m growing a pair and finally working on it. I’ve only came up with a simple concept and one goal in mind: Make the shape as smart as he was in 1978. My problem with the modern Halloween movies is the fact that Myers is just another invincible silent masked slasher. Which really makes him the vanilla of slasher villains. But what made him so different in that first movie all those years ago? He was actually calculating, smart, and felt like an overall force of evil.
I want to make sure this is a crucial aspect and make the actual characters likable, because in 1978, each death felt like…well, I don’t know, but you were supposed to actually feel something when each character died rather than cheering.
And not to mention, the shots and total emptiness of the ‘78 film. each shot feels like Michael could be anywhere, watching, listening, always knowing. Obviously, this is what made him terrifying for me, not knowing that a force of death is always watching you can’t do anything about it?
