For anyone interested in the filming locations feel free to check out my website. I have almost every location covered from parts 1-8, including many of the obscure/lesser known locations.
This is fantastic! Saving this link for sure. Thanks for making this. Maybe a mod could pin this for people who wanna venture to some of these locations. I’ve been to a couple in Pasadena years ago. So much fun in hunting down those spots and see it in person
This is very extensively done! It’s amazing to see how much that train-side phonebooth area has been built up over the years. All those decorative palm trees would have made it just about impossible to fudge that spot as Illinois nowadays. Also, speaking of hard to fudge for Illinois, the exterior lockers in 1978 was a dead giveaway that it wasn’t Illinois. No Illinois high school would have exterior lockers. Too much snow and other weather.
I do love how much has stayed the same, though. Like how Penny’s is STILL there as a road-side diner, or some of those homes still have the same doors and windows after over 40 years. But looking back at the Myers house from H5, what the HELL did Mr. Myers do for a living that they could afford a 3-story vintage Victorian?!
Awesome site! Very well documented and laid out. I’ve been to most of these locations but I’ll have to checkout the more obscure ones next time I’m in Pasadena.
I’ve managed (via a friend) to get some interior photos of the Halloween II hospital. I’ve never seen anyone ever do this so I believe these are the first shots of this location since filming! Enjoy.
Mr. H! I’ve missed you since the OHMB! Let me tell you what, you’ve helped me out tremendously! I remember back on OHMB you had a thread with almost every location on it. I literally printed the whole thing out back then and kept it and have used it every time I’ve went to LA or SLC. I’ve hit almost every single location from H1-H6 + H20 + RZH. Can’t thank you enough!
H1-H6 are my favorite films of the whole franchise and there’s basically only one location left I need to hit to complete the list. It’s the H6 T-Cut Smith’s Grove interiors (the hallway where Michael walks past Tommy & Kara and slaughters the doctors - the Maximum Security Hallway - the underground tunnel with pipes on the walls and red lights - and the final lab room with fetuses). I know this took place at the Dream Center and I actually went there once to try and find these locations but I had no luck pinpointing anything. Do you have any idea where in the building these spots are located? Next time I’m in LA I plan on going back and giving it another shot.
Thanks man, I spent a good 2 years or so trying to uncover all of the (then) unknown locations listed in that thread. I like H4-H6 too and most of the unknowns were from those films, so it was fun trying to locate those. My favourite find was the credit locations from Halloween 4 (and one of the hardest).
Have a look at my website if you haven’t already, as I now have a few more obscure locations that were not in that thread and also some better photos.
Regarding the Smith’s Grove interiors, Sean Clark did a Horror’s Hallowed Grounds for this (it’s on YouTube) which shows the red lit underground tunnel, final lab room and where they built Wynn’s office. He didn’t cover the Maximum Security Hallway or Operating room area but I believe the former was filmed on the 9th floor of that building and the latter on the 12th floor. Not certain but that’s my understanding.
Yeah, I went back to SLC this past Sept and I got to go up and literally touch a couple of the buildings from the “Halloween 4” opening credit shots. It was great.
We actually used your website in addition with the printed notes to help find exact spots to stuff (such as the exact spot where Jamie comes out of the underground chamber in H6). It was all extremely helpful.
I plan on going back to Los Angeles for the H45 convention and I will surely stop by the Dream Center again and check out those floors. I’ll check the basement again too and see if the door is unlocked this time. And I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures and if you want to use them for your website, that would be great.
Outside of that, the most recent place from HII you posted (the interior of the hospital) is another one I need to see. I’ll try to hit that up too. I’ve already been to the exterior building a couple of times.
