Halloween H20 workprint?

Hello, So I’ve been lurking on these forums for sometime however I did join awhile back just never posted anything as I liked reading discussions but anyways has anyone seen or own a copy of the workprint of H20? I ask because I’ve seen & own the workprint of Jason goes to hell (digital btw) & want to see H20 with the original KNB mask plus workprints tend to have alternate or extended scenes that are not present in the theatrical releases which I am a fan as it’s always fun to watch how the original film was going to be before studios involvement. Any help would be appreciated.

I think I have the work print still. I would have to find it.

That be great if you do!

I would love to see the H20 workprint, too. I heard it has John Ottman’s complete score instead of the Scream music. Is this true? Where can it be seen?

I had the audio of it downloaded a while back. It’s not true. It’s all temp music. H1, H2, probably Scream, etc

Thanks. I wonder if the people who claim it has Ottman’s score actually watched some fan-made “workprint” instead.

Would also love to see!

I would love to see this as well.

I have a copy on disk, bought years ago from Sean Clark, back when conventions used to allow bootleg tables. Those were the days.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen it, but I remember being a bit underwhelmed. I don’t recall every shot in it being the KNB, nor is it front-to-back Ottman music, IIRC.

I was able to get the H20 workprint. Whoever wants it, send me a PM.

Note: There is no Ottman score in the workprint and I believe no additional shots of the KNB mask that aren’t already in the theatrical version, except for one shot. I believe the extremely brief shot of the mask right as Charlie bumps into Myers is the KNB mask, but when it cuts back I think it’s the CGI mask. It’s hard to tell because the quality is so horrible.

Hey @BobbyH64 I’ve got a friend that would love to see the work print. Can you share it with me. I’m sorry I don’t no how to pm. I just joined to comment here

Sure! I’ll send the link when I’m able to.

Yes sir thank you so much

I just messaged you the link!

I’ve seen the work print, and own it. It’s mostly the same movie with a few exceptions.

The shot of Michael sneaking up on Charlie features the Knb mask instead of the cgi mask.

The music is temp music, which uses a combo of music from H1, H2, and I Know What You Did Last Summer. Ottman’s score wasn’t done till about a week before release, which is the reason they didn’t have time to rescore all the movie, and had to use some music from other movies.

And the opening title sequence features some alternate shots, and is edited differently.

The rest of the movie is the exact same as the theatrical cut. The work print was created after all the reshoots happened. A version of the movie that features only the Knb mask doesn’t exist, since they replaced the mask half way into filming, and reshot a large chunk of the movie with the new mask before filming finished.

Hello @BobbyH64 ! I don’t find how to do a PM but if it’s still possible for you it would be so cool to share me the H20 workprint. I’m making research for a podcast and it would be so helpful !

Hey Keoma, I just messaged you the link. Let me know if you were able to get it. And please send me a link to your podcast when you finish it!

Hello, yes, I was able to get it. Thank you so much. The podcast I participate in is called croiX2malte. We do fairly long episodes, in French, about each of the films in the franchise. Last Friday, we spent 12 hours talking about Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. Here’s the link : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRk1294T6qg

One thing I don’t quite understand about the new layout is how to quote someone in a reply. It seems that when I quote them and then write a reply, who I’m quoting and what the person said is gone, so it looks like I’m just sending a normal reply.

Also, is it possible to quote multiple people?

Oops. I meant to post this in another thread and accidentally put it in here.

Edit: I see that I quoted myself. Not sure how I did that.
