Here are two of the original props I have from the original “Halloween II”. I wanted to show some photos before I part with them. The first is easily recognisable - the radio in Alice’s house from the start of the film. This scene was of course a Carpenter re-shoot so the radio was just something the property master picked up and was not part of the original “prop stable”. I obtained this from a cousin of the property master approximately eleven years ago, and in my ignorant youth I did not bother to stay in touch with this person (who I recall was very nice) nor seek more detailed information about the radio, his cousin or the film’s production! Furthermore, for the life of me I cannot remember if he was the cousin of property master Daniel Lee Stoltenberg or assistant property master James A. Rathbun; I only know that both worked on Halloween II and Halloween III together, but I suspect it was Rathbun. The PM gave the radio to his cousin after filming was completed and he had owned it ever since, using it for a number of years before storing it and then re-discovering it in the mid-2000s. The radio is still in excellent condition physically (I haven’t tried to turn it on) and is a K-Mart home-brand.
The second prop is one of the pair of shoes worn by Gloria Gifford as Mrs Alves for part of the film. She alternated between these slip-ons (or “clogs”) and lace-up sneakers with socks. This is the only pair kept by Gloria after production wrapped and I obtained them directly from her in 2008 (Donnie got her white coat!). Gloria signed these originally in blue marker but unfortunately it soon faded away. Like the radio, they are in excellent overall original condition.
I have more older photos on another computer but these are the latest. I used to have them stored in a display cabinet but following a recent move I’ve just had them sitting on a shelf. Thanks for looking.
