Halloween II (1981)

Yep, he has a point

Agreed. Everyone has their own opinions. I’m not trying to force my viewpoint on anyone. I’m just saying my thoughts about the two films. I like having discussions about the movies and hearing the same viewpoints as well as differing ones. It is nice to talk with people about the films, the masks, and the holiday in general. I don’t understand people who get argumentative about it. When someone says their take on the films, that does not make it fact. Not at all.

Right on man. I’ve been saying that for so long :unamused:

When it comes down to it, although I liked H40, I find H2 much scarier. H40 might be more slick, better filmed or whatever, but for me it doesn’t capture the same feelings I get when I watch H2. In H2 I’m rooting for the nurses and Laurie because they take a little time to set the characters up, or they’re dealing with characters from H1; in H40 I don’t really get that and I’m actually rooting for Michael for most of the movie until the finale because most of his victims are either totally random or just plain annoying, in the case of Dr Sartain in particular. It does fall into the trap of modern franchise horror by almost making Michael an anti-hero rather than a lurking terror.

First off, if you have nothing of substance to say other than “that’s my opinion,” why do you even bother responding? Second, if your of the mindset that your opinion will never change, that’s the very definition of being close-minded.

If people don’t want to argue, then they don’t have to argue. It’s a little silly to constantly go back and forth with someone and then get mad because the person is actually presenting points. If you can’t present a Counterpoint, then clearly there’s not much of an actual thought process behind your opinion, is there?

Without any actual base or thought process behind your opinion, it’s just completely arbitrary.

What you’re calling idiotic is really just basic comprehension. If you don’t want to engage, that’s fine. But so far the only people taking issue with my posts are the people who can’t actually present any actual arguable points. At all.

And on the other side, there have been a few people that have responded to me who have actually been somewhat thoughtful and presented their own points. They didn’t get angry and complain, they engaged and made arguable points. And there was no vitriol. That’s what adults do. So you would do well to learn from that. It doesn’t really make much sense to get all up in arms and angry at someone for presenting an argument when you can’t even counter it.

You also have to realize that the very topic here itself is going to lead to debate. Seems kind of like the point.

Guess I didnt present points in the pages before, huh? Okay then…
And you dont read very well… I never said my opinion would never change. I said YOU can’t change my opinion. Read to succeed, friend.

No, you really didn’t. Basically just repeated “my opinion.” Actually, you did make some points. I promptly countered them and didn’t get any counters back. When someone reaches a dead end, I’d say that’s a pretty good indicator.

What the difference is there between those two? Either way you’re saying your opinion won’t change. So either you’re close minded or you have a personal bias against me. Either way, very logical mindset.

Please explain why you’re saying someone else could possibly change your opinion, but not me specifically? The only reason I can think of is personal feelings. People don’t like to hear they are wrong about things, it’s only natural but it’s unfortunate.

I’m curious how many of you would be as laid-back as you expect me to be towards people who would actually seriously say that they thought Halloween 5 was a better movie than the original Halloween. Maybe put that into perspective. Because Halloween 5 is clearly not better than the original. And yes, I would be just as adamant to explain to someone with that opinion why they are purely and simply wrong.

I made my points and even said you made a good point about one thing regarding the new film. I left it at us agreeing to disagree and that being okay. You were the ass who came back and said what you are arguing is not opinion but fact. Boy, that’s one strroooonnggg argument there… :unamused:
Just quit while you’re ahead. You’re making an ass of yourself.

Just because someone doesn’t agree doesn’t mean they’re inferior, no need to have the last say.
You need to understand some people will say “imo” to avoid conflict and that is that…let it go
