Yoooo… dude that is so badass. Congratulations on getting it you are one lucky man, I always loved the skull pumpkin (as you can see on my profile pic).
Thanks again guys. I truly appreciate the comments.
They made it tall and thin because they knew the lense was going to blow it out more. They used a Mitchell 35mm pin registered camera that took 144 frames a second to make sure there was no jittering happening with the flickering light. They shot it at very slow speed that way speeding it up they wouldn’t miss anything.
This prop will have it’s own Facebook page…a friend of Facebook actually suggested it. I thought it was a good idea.
The Great Pumpkin.
Soo cool. I can definitely see where it split now
Wow, seriously Billy…Congrats man, that is def. cool. Thank you for sharing!
Then it’s long gone. Shame, that’s my absolute favorite Jack O’Lantern design on and off screen. I carve multiples each year despite my family complaining that they’re all the same.
Never cared for the H2 pumpkin until seeing the prop this way. It’s somehow creepier “stretched.” Beautiful prop!

That has got to be the coolest thing I have ever seen! Congrats on scoring that H2 grail
Incredible! I think this is the best score ever posted on this board, the Medley coming in second. Amazing piece of Halloween history, it must be so surreal to have it in your living room.
Wow. Thanks guys. It’s quite striking seeing it in person. It’s looks real awkward but it is what it is. It makes me smile everytime I see it. I really appreciate your thoughts about it.
Matt Jacobsen made it widescreen. He did a great job.
Original

Pretty much…like it was in the movie except it’s missing 2 teeth. They fell off after the filming.
It’s a shame the new 4K scan release from Scream Fac couldn’t make a segment on this score; as with your other still sets.
Here’s hoping for maybe on a foreign release such as Arrow Video.
What a tremendous score. I don’t think you can ever top this one Billy! Keep those pics coming and thanks for sharing buddy.

Absolutely agree.
Wow, congratulations on this once in a lifetime piece! Very interesting to hear some of the backstory; had no idea it was that large.
Very sincerer thanks guys! Watch for a Facebook page in the near future full of production pictures of this pumpkin being made from 1981, maybe even behind the scenes video footage as well, and even more information of the making of this “little” piece of Halloween history. I’m honored the Halloween Gods bestowed this on me.
Such an amazing score! I never fathomed this was actually a prop and not a genuine pumpkin like the first one, but I’m happy that it was, since now a collector who truly cherishes it is able to own it all these years later.
One of the best scores I’ve seen at this site. Amazing!
Oh my…I’m speechless. So, so cool. Would love to have this prop in my collection. Glad to see it went to someone who appreciates it.
I never dreamed it would be that big. Crazy! Practically the size of a blow mold. I wish someone would make some replica’s of this. I would grab one faster than you could blink a eye. lol

Hi…THANK YOU and everyone for the nice comments.
When I got into the mask/hobby realm, all I wanted was the Halloween III masks and the Terror Train masks…then I saw this in 1998 and this became the ultimate grail. This was the cake…everything else along the way was the icing. My wife is having a heart attack about this but she knows and understands this and what it means to me. I mean, for Christ Sakes…it’s going in the front room because it won’t fit through doors. It’s a family member now and it will get decorated for Christmas and every holiday.
LOL! Make the Mrs. set a place for it at dinner and ask it how its day has been!
Speaking of decorations, I’ll bet it looks sick back lit like in the film
Are you sure you’ve got the original, Billy? This guy beat you to it I think
