Not sure how I feel about the titles but better than trying to figure out if it’s a 2 or 3 or whatever lol I’m sure they’ll grow on me. Also glad to see they’re not doing the two in one month thing that was rumored- trust me I’d love to see two new Halloween films in one month but I’d really want them to take their time with what’s supposed to be the end of the franchise. (On a side note, does anyone else feel like by knowing there will be a third sequel- Halloween Ends- affect a bit of the tension of the second sequel- Halloween Kills? I just feel like it’s the same dilemma with prequels, where you know that the protagonist, or in this case Michael, is 99% not going to die? So like, any scene where someone almost kills him or whatever isn’t as intense knowing that there’s a whole other movie coming the next year?)
It’s a possibility but at this point, unless the man gets visibly torn to shreds and scattered over the 7 seas and perhaps into space (Uber Michael time?), no one is gonna believe he’s dead.
“Halloween Kills” sounds weird, but “Halloween Ends” I’m ok with. Really hope they don’t both release in the same month, as that’d be a mistake in my opinion, but it’s almost as bad if they release a year apart, (Halloween 5, anyone?) I’m not a fan of the 2018 film, so I don’t want a sequel regardless, but if we are to receive one, I really hope they learn from their mistakes, such as…showing Michael WAY too much, not letting him even stalk anyone, and a major lack of dark, atmospheric lighting.

I like 2018 ok, but Halloween 2 1981 is always gonna be the best sequel hands down.
Michael needs to stay in the dark. As John Carpenter said you have to keep the monster to the side and slowly bring him in.

I would LOVE to see the return of Lindsay and Tommy, like they hear the news and come back to Haddonfield to see Laurie after all this time. I had the scene idea where Laurie goes to the cemetery to talk to her friends, saying how she still misses them and how Michael is dead. And she goes to Loomis’s grave to tell him that the evil is dead and how it’s over. Laurie thinks Michael is dead, so this is like a false ending for her, because it’s not over.
Halloween Ends…yeah, at least until the 50th anniversary. I personally don’t want Halloween to end. And no, that doesn’t mean Michael Myers has to live forever.
But, a new killer can carry on the legacy. It can be done, and done right. Not like Scream where it just gets ridiculously over the top with the copycat killers, but a true long lasting threat who carries on the torment for new generations. People can think it’s Michael, but the truth will be it’s a totally new killer.
The franchise can carry on in new directions. So “Halloween Ends”…not a fan of that title. But honestly, they have brought him back from total decapitation so why worry lol.
But if it truly ends, (which I really doubt, I am sure it will reboot again with a new story around the 50th anniversary) but if it does, then it was a hell of a run. Right?
Anyway, very glad to see they went with a subtitle and not 2 or 3 or 3 or 5 or whatever the hell numbers they could of come up with. Subtitles was the best option.
I’m definitely down with this!! Halloween trilogy sounds like perfection!! Can’t wait! Problems with h40 aside, it’s still the best sequel since H2 1981 in my opinion
Lol at Halloween Ends. Yeah like “The Final Friday” or “Freddy’s Dead”, who do they think they are fooling?
If it’s the same people involved I can’t really get behind the hype, much like when Rob Zombie was involved it’s just not my Halloween. The series is one that should be refreshed with new blood every so often and three films by the same writer-director team in a short time span is a bit too much.
How many of us actually think it will end after 2021? Maybe with this story arc but come on. I can’t see them ever not making another Michael Myers movie ever. Too
Much money to be made, I remember over ten years ago they were going to stop making Star Wars…
