***Halloween Kills & Halloween Ends Discussion***

Does anyone know what the production budget of this one is? I know the last one was 10 million. I think I read somewhere that this one is 20 million. If that’s the case, then this will have the highest budget of the entire series.

Wasn’t H20 about 20 million ?

Wikipedia says 17 million so in today’s money that would be much higher also blumhouse are getting a big tax cut of something like 8 million

Here’s a question, If the virus continues thru fall, Would you rather watch Halloween Kills thru video on demand OR have them push it back until next year and release kills then ends…(although ends wont be able to be filmed). Lets say it did…What would you rather

I want to experience it in the movie theatre. It makes it more exciting! The getting there, the watching the trailers and just think “play the movie” and I got nervous for the last film as I had followed all the twists and turns and hype so when it started I felt hyper excited. On demand at home I’m not Sure I would feel quite so excited and the experience would be different but if they decide to do that then so be it. I have a HD projector and a large screen and surround sound . It’s hard to guess what’s going to happen next. I’m in the U.K. and it’s on lock down and as we all know Everything has either been cancelled or pushed back to next year. As Halloween is suppose to be released on the 16 October could other films that have been held back push it out of its release date? I don’t know how these things work . Somwmbig films will have been held back I wonder if that means Halloween either gets a short limited cinema release then straight on demand in time for Halloween night !!

This movie isn’t supposed to come out for another 6 months. I’m pretty sure things will be a whole lot better by then. At least, I sure as hell hope so.

Same here. I have seen every new Halloween movie since Resurrection on the big screen. Would love to follow this tradition.

I think a chance of HALLOWEEN, Universal’s biggest horror franchise right now going to VOD is slim to none. It wouldn’t make any sense financially.

Ends will be fine. First, it was supposed to film in Fall, they pushed it up to Summer, but now I’m sure it’ll be pushed back to Fall-Early 2021.

The biggest question is will we have something to look forward to on April 16th this year or not.

i think the virus is gonna last a lot longer then people think…there is no end in sight right now and us in the medical field are getting pounded…i just cant picture this being over by the fall

There’s really no telling what is going to happen by the end of the year, it’s really all dependent on what we do now as a whole.

Also, Kills budget is 20-25M on paper. They got a tax rebate from NC for 7 million, so they probably only had to spend 15M-17M.

I like your attitude bro! What did you mean by April 16th bud? Is that when the con was for?

April 1st was when Universal’s CinemaCon panel was scheduled. It’s where investors get to see footage, and hype it up for the fans.

April 16th marks six months from Kills release (it’s too far out to say whether or not that stands, and quite frankly, there’s no need to worry too much right now). Halloween '18’s poster was released on April 19th, marking the six month date before release. I imagine it’ll be the same here.

One thing that disappointed me about the last movie, was that a lot of the deaths happened off-screen. I personally would’ve loved to have seen the mechanic and jack-o’-lantern deaths. I really hope we get more insane on-screen deaths in this one. I also hope that it has much better editing.

How about bringing back drive in theatres and screen the film there? No need to worry about a virus, everyone stays in their car, it’s a win win

You’ll be a happy camper, then!

Off screen deaths been happening since the first one, so it’s nothing new. And really with the mechanic, the point is that you see Michael in the background walking, and then hearing the scuffle while the camera is focused on that podcaster.

Does that mean we’ll in fact be getting crazy on-screen kills as gnarly as the mechanic’s? I sure hope so.

I understand the “less is more” approach with the killing in these movies, but to me, it felt like most of the deaths were either partially off-screen or completely off-screen. I’m a gorehound and I really want to see some brutal stuff happen.

That’s the difficult thing.

There’s so many different kinds of fans. Some love the less-is-more approach, others want to see every little thing. I think with this trilogy, each film will have it’s own distinct ‘feel’ in that regard and that in theory should please everyone.

With H’18, it was a very, very nice balance. With Halloween Kills, not only given the name, but given the stakes/emotion/heightened tension in the film, upping the ante was the only way to go (and whew, do they go there. Character/Story comes first though, 100%). With Halloween Ends, I wouldn’t be shocked if they actually strip the gore back even more than H’18, and go for a really suspense/tension filled last entry, at least until the last act.

Do you know if any of the kills are creative? I know that Michael was never particularly imaginative with most of his murders, that seems to be more of Jason’s MO, but it would be nice to see some imaginative and memorable kills that really stand out.
