Halloween Kills - What are they gonna do with his mask?

So I’ve been thinking about it, and we all know how Halloween 2018 ended. Now with this new movie coming out, supposedly taking place directly after Halloween 2018, how will they make Michael’s mask look? To me, they have 2 or 3 options.

1.) Michael’s mask was slightly burned, which I think would be a horrible idea because, you’d think that the first thing on that mask to start burning under the heat, would probably be the hair. No way I wanna see a bald Myers running around.

2.) They use one of those clean mask molds that they made for Halloween 2018, and never used. I would rather them try to just sculpt a new mold, if they do go this route. I don’t know about anyone else in here, but I’m personally not a fan of the way that clean 2018 mask looks back there. I’m sure if they did use that mask, it would look a lot different under certain lighting, but I’m still not a fan. Not only that, they would have to also find a way to write in how he somehow got a new mask.

3.) Or they make it to where, Michael somehow got out untouched from the flames, before the house really started to burn. Which I wouldn’t really mind. Just seems like if they do go this route, that whole dramatic 2018 ending was for nothing lol.

My guess would be heavy melting here and there revealing skin underneath, or some scorching all over the mask, and even burnt off hair.

What I’m hoping they do is let him steal a new, clean mask from a store, similar to how he did in H1 and H4. I have personally never been a fan of the dirty, weathered, grimy, cracked masks, as that is not what comes to mind when I think of Myers. If they use the clean version you posted there, I would be happy with that

I’m not looking forward to seeing the mask with the bullet hit on the cheek, it’s edging closer to a RZ H2.

I doubt they’ll do this, but I would personally have him acquire a new mask, from let’s say… Ben Tramer, who happens to be wearing a clean version. Michael can steal it on the way to the hospital, which is most likely where the Strodes will be going. I’m not saying the hospital will be the setting throughout, but it would be a nice touch.

That’s honestly why I don’t currently have the current h18 mask. Waiting to see what they do with the next movie bc I wasn’t the biggest fan of the previous installment

I’m hoping the mask isn’t burned. I do agree with the op that hair would realistically flash burn off the mask in about .5 seconds. I’m also not digging the huge hole in the side of the current mask. I’m hoping we’ll all be pleasantly surprised when the trailer eventually releases.

I agree that we should get a new, clean mask in this movie. The return of the “original” mask won the mask some nostalgia points, but I’d really like to get a new clean, white mask, which whe haven’t had since 2002. Not counting the clean RZ mask in the remake, because that wasn’t in the whole movie.

I would be ok with it not being a classic white mask. In fact I would welcome another vintage mask, maybe another Don Post mask

Maybe steal a clown mask like the one he wore when he kill d his sister

I believe for Halloween Kills, they’re gonna use the current mask (bullet wound on cheek) but it’s just gonna be nastier. Black spots, maybe some torched hair, maybe some melted spots.

Hopefully he’ll get a new one in Halloween Ends.

I respect your opinion but that’s probably the worst route they could go.

The mask in 2018 was understandable as it was meant to be the original mask he had in 78’. However, going forward, if they just keep the same mask on him, and it is melted or significantly destroyed from it’s original state, then I am not really on board with that. Especially if it’s melted to his face or fused to his face like I have heard some people hoping for. That would be horrible in my opinion.

We have already gone down the road of old rotting mask with Rob Zombie, and when it was discovered that H18 was essentially going that same route, I was disappointed to say the least. However when the mask was revealed, and how it worked in the film, I was ultimately ok with it.

But, if they just keep that same mask on him, and it’s further destroyed, then it’s just more of what we got in Rob Zombies movies, as far as the mask goes. I do not want more decaying mask, I want new fresh mask.

When we originally found out about the 2018 Halloween movie being made, they had that promo shot with Jamie Lee and Myers, and Myers in a clean mask. I was really hoping that was the look we were going to get in H18.

So with that said, I am hoping that Myers just decides that the old mask is too destroyed and decides to go shopping for a new mask in Halloween Kills. Although that might be a bit hard to just walk into a store and find one considering his injuries will give him away. So maybe he sees a guy out on the town in a new clean Myers style mask and decides to kill whoever it is, and take the new mask.

Thats about the only way he can obtain a new mask at this point now that the town will be looking for him, and his injuries giving him away. So another robbery of the hardware store is probably out of the question. But a Ben Tramer getting killed for his mask might be a fun way to do it.

At the end of the day, if they just keep the same mask on him, only melted, and the bullet hole damage, and hair burnt off, then that’s a let down for me. I just won’t enjoy that look very much at all. I just want to see a clean new mask.

Unless he escaped before flames touched him. Still you got that gash on the cheek. If they keep things darker and you don’t get long shots of face I guess the old mask will work. I just don’t wanna see a Rob zombie style at all

im hoping for a mix of both. Would like to see a burnt melted mask in the beginning and than him killing someone early on to take a clean version of the mask

In the Halloween 2018 novelization, the book describes Michael’s mask as fusing into his skin as the fire grew. Now, while I’m not necessarily a fan of a melty mask, I do think that Michael isn’t Michael without his mask (tho I can forgive the bathroom scene since it was done well). If they go down the route of it being the same mask I highly doubt that his hair would get burned off. There are some really good concept H40 masks out there of Michael after the flame that look really good (one of the few I can think of is by rehauler Eric Hamilton on Instagram), that aren’t super over the top with the grunge which I think would work. That being said, I do miss a ghost white Myers mask, it’s just that I can’t think of any feasible way for him to get one in the new movie which would satisfy the fans. If he just stole one from a costume shop like in H4, it probably would look cheap and while that kinda worked for H4 I’m sure none of us would want that. Maybe I could see him taking it from some kind of Myers/serial killer fanatic or possibly some kind of artist but that just seems like too much of a stretch. It seems like they kinda wrote themselves into a corner here with their only real feasible option still being his original mask, burned or not.

I actually thought of something similar once. There could be a serial killer obsessed Myers fan or something, with a replica mask of the 78. Considering how many on-the-nose references 2018 had to previous installments, why not an actual Halloween fan, eh?

If Myers is what makes Haddonfield famous, and put it on the map, perhaps someone came a long way to visit, or even join in on the mayhem; two killers isn’t a bad idea either. Real Myers and fake Myers; obviously fake Myers fan can die, and real Myers can snag the mask, something like that. We already had the wacko doctor, so why not.

I still think bringing back Ben Tramer in a Myers costume would work best though, more of a nod to the original H2.

They can have 2 of the same masks, it was done in resurrection
