Halloween:the inside story made me mad(a little)

Meh. Zombie’s only a fan of the original Halloween, so I don’t see why people are so shocked by his problems with the rest of the films.

I happen to think that his films were, at the very least, a step in the right direction, and brought some much needed originality to a franchise that was becoming too concerned with cutesy references to the original (or H2 if we’re talking about Resurrection, hehe). Also, Zombie definitely doesn’t have an ego. In fact, I’d say he’s one of the most honest and humble directors I’ve seen. I definitely don’t think he thought he could do better than those films, but rather that he could take the franchise in a different direction and do something outside the Halloween box as it were. Of course, I’ve seen what happens where someone tries to take the franchise outside the box, so the complaints against him don’t come as a huge surprise.
