Agreed, something in the same vein as the Friday The 13th game. For what it’s worth, you can play as Michael Myers and Laurie in the game Dead By Daylight, along with other horror icons like Ghostface, Freddy, and Leatherface, which is really cool. I believe there was a Call Of Duty game a few years back that let you play as Michael Myers as well, as weird as that one is.
It should be nothing like that, cause it’s multiplayer, and multiplayer games are a complete shit show right now, hardly any good single player games nowadays too
I totally agree I would kill for a Halloween game that’s similar to the way Friday the 13th was done only without the horrible bugs and constant issues and no Lawsuit screwing the game progress entirely. I played TF out of Friday I still do sometimes. DBD is a decent game and I like that they got licensing for sick movie killers BUT the fact that they are super handcuffed and forced to play on these silly maps where you have to hang your catch and offer it to some kind of gods or something ugh SO dumb.
I can handle maybe Leatherface and the hooks but everyone else it seems so silly.
I think as a game it’s a solid game but is soon as you start introducing all of these cool characters they can’t really do what they do in the movies at all because they’re stuck in this particular style of game it’s a bit of a drag. I admit the Halloween package with Laurie was what made me buy DBD three years back lol but I was disappointed hoping it would be more like Friday.
It blows my mind we haven’t gotten a legit Halloween game yet on modern consoles. Seems like a no brainer. Freddy too. Hopefully a decent company comes around to make a game. The F13th game was cool for about 2 days, but it was too buggy and the graphics were about 10 years behind the times. Running around and checking empty drawers got old fast and became a giant bore after a while. Gun Media, or whoever they were, didn’t really do a good job IMO. They had the right idea in a general sense but the execution was pretty terrible.
As for a Halloween game, I hope we get a full blown single player campaign on the level of Alien Isolation, maybe written or co-written by someone who knows the franchise intimately, like Daniel Farrands. And scored by series regular Alan Howarth. That would be so amazing.
They could also include a multiplayer option where you either play as any version of Michael you want, or as an established or new character fighting against him. Set it in the giant map of Haddonfield and let people go at it. Like F13th the game but hopefully way better. Less focus on empty drawers and more focus on something that’s actually fun. With graphics that properly represent the year we’re living in.
This is exactly what they should do, for me, I love getting lost in a big world, that’s why Skyrim and GTA V sold so many copies for the past 9 years, The Witcher 3 is the same way, and won gaming awards, though I have yet to play that game myself, the world does need to be huge, and you could probably put parts from every film into one map with the option of the Myers house looking like it did in 63, 78, 81 or in Resurrection

I agree with just about everything talked about in this video. I’d love to see a game where you could choose to play as either Laurie or an original character or the Shape in a single-player campaign, perhaps unlocking other characters over time. You could pick either and then go about a Halloween day in an open-world Haddonfield, where you get to decide what happens and what your character does. Sounds like a shit ton of work, but I think it would be really cool. I’d rather have a single-player game than a multiplayer one, as I’m pretty much in the same boat as Krueger when it comes to that, but I wouldn’t mind seeing a multiplayer mode included with it. It’s just that there’s a decent amount of games out now that use that concept already, like DbD, F13 the game, Hide or Die. I just wouldn’t be that excited if I heard about a Michael Myers game that was going to be really similar to games we have already. Though if there was a multiplayer mode along with a single-player, I’d be all for that.
Sounds like Gun Media and Kane Hodder are working together on a new horror movie game. Nobody knows what it is yet but a lot of people are speculating it’s a Halloween.
I actually heard about that a while ago and have been watching closely and as much as we all want it to be Halloween and it makes nothing but sends to release a Halloween video game because there is no horror franchise that is more popular right now, i’m somehow doubting it.
There is a Texas chainsaw massacre movie coming and I didn’t realize that until about a month ago and as soon as I found out about that I thought uh oh, they are probably doing Texas chainsaw massacre or maybe even Hatchet instead.
One of the reasons I think is why not approach James Jude Courtney to do that work right? I doubt he would be any more expensive than Kane, maybe even less expensive.
It is disappointing though because whoever has the backing money for a new video game seems to be possibly out of touch with what most of the Horror community seems to want if it’s not a Halloween game.
I’m going to keep crossing my fingers but I am extremely doubtful and I think likely it’s going to be hatchet or Texas chainsaw massacre which I’m sure will be fun games as well but nothing like Halloween would have been.
While I think JJC is great, Nick Castle should be the one to do the motion capture cause he is the original Shape that started it all, and he could wear every version of the masks to give the signature stretch, plus we could see how the masks would have looked had he been asked to come back for other sequels. He would also do the breathing too, JJC could do the Kills if Nick doesn’t feel up to it as well, if they can’t afford the indy masks, they can scan in the TOTS masks for base models
I feel like it has to be bigger than Hatchet. Hatchet is such a small time franchise, most people probably have never even heard of it. I know I didn’t know anything about it a month or two ago. So I feel like it’s gonna be something at least with some name value. Going from F13th to Hatchet would be just a drastic step down.
As for who does the motion capture, sure it would be nice to have Castle and Warlock and Wilbur and all them act as The Shape, but it’s not necessary. Kane is good friends with the people at Gun and has always wanted to play Michael so there’s no reason not to let him do it. Plus, he’s an actor so he’d have no problem at least getting close to what we’ve seen on screen and emulating that.
John Carpenter was even asked by the people at Gun if he’d be willing to score a Halloween video game should one ever come up and he said absolutely yet. Part o me thinks this would be great but the other half, I want the score from each map to SOUND like it’s from that movie. I don’t want to be playing the H4 map with an originial score. I want the score from H4.
Regardless if it’s Halloween or TCM I hope they’re able to throw in a ton of maps from each of the movies. Especially Halloween. Or maybe one map encapsulating multiple areas:

Oh of course man don’t get me wrong I totally agree if you could choose I would of course choose Nick Castle I’m just saying it would probably be easier to get James for a similar or better price than Kane. I guess my point was why get cane to play Michael Myers when it’s probably just as easy to get a Michael Myers actor to play Michael Myers.
And the concept for the Halloween game I totally agree with as well that would be great to have all of those maps and Halloween for and everything in there it would be great if it were set up like the Friday the 13th game only of course refined and not buggy. I don’t think we’re ever going to see that many maps in a game like this yet. Just because it’s a ton of work and most games that have that many maps in them like call of duty for example have insane amounts of money behind them. I would be happy with A couple maps from 1978 one of the hospital from H2 and another few from H4 and H40 for sure. Really it would be nice to see a map from every movie.
But yeah honestly I feel like it’s going to be Texas chainsaw massacre. Mostly because I recently found out another TCM movie was being released this year and the whole Kane Hodder involvement makes me wonder. I agree Hatchet is unlikely but sometimes when you get backers with money they can be really out of touch with the general Horror community and think hatchet is a fantastic idea to push lol

I can see what you mean man, JJC would be good for physical stuff, then they could scan all the actors that played Michael, and they wear the masks for their stretch, seeing Nick have his stretch in every mask would be great
