I had my best friend run this photo thru Photoshop CS4 and until we can get a larger, better scanned image, this will have to do; we, as fans, were dealing with an incredibly small file. If you print those larger photos and then stand back 3ft, your eye can take in and the digital-ness goes away.
First he transferred the image to a tiff, and then ran color correction and unsharp mask. The b/w photo is my favorite; it actually give more depth to the photo more than the color one.

On the above photos, right click, see image and then you will be able to see the entire image…“right click, save”.
On all the masks, the contrast of the face and the neck is a little surprising. We all know there was some light weathering… but that almost looks like heavy H2 weathering - from the jawline down and back. And if this was properly color corrected, am I seeing purple on the neck? I am color blind so it could just be me.
I think, because of the original compression, we’re seeing an anomaly in the photos especially in the neck lines; they blend in well with the walls behind them and to their sides.
I tried my hand at it as well…just doubled the size, but instead of resizing the image, I copied and pasted, and then used image transform…and then used Sharpen More…
