Hello,
I’m planning on making a hand cast, but i’m just wondering how to properly put the gripping motion to hold my vintage dexter knife? I don’t want the middle of my hand to fill in the the mold. Thanks.

Hold a block of wood when you mold your hand, then it can be in the right position, make it bigger than a knife handle as well
This would create a negative cavity in the middle of his hand and his casting material would fill this up, giving him a solid hand with nowhere to put the knife.
OP, when you mold the your hand you’ll not want to have anything in it. You’ll just need to mold
Your hand in the position as if you were holding a knife handle without actually doing so. If you’re casting it in rubber and filling then I’d recommend going a little tighter than the circumference of the knife handle so that it can squeeze in there. Better to have too little space than too much in this case.

This is 100% correct. Do not hold anything or it will mess it up.

Ok, so basically just put my hand in the gripping motion as if I were holding a knife, gotcha. Thanks for the response.

Yes, I know it seems like it won’t work, but that’s the thing mold making does to your mind.
