My H4 mask is a “Damned 88” by Jamie Grove but to me it doesn’t look like any of the other Damned 88’s that I’ve seen. I’ve heard of a 388 but idk what that is.
Anyway, can anyone tell me if my mask is actually a Damned 88 or what mold it really is? The mask is a really big size too if that helps. I’m 6”3 with a big head and it’s so big I can’t see out of it haha
Having both a Damned388 and a Damned88, that is most likely a Damned388 if it’s still large on you. First I need to tell you the backstory of these masks. The Damned88 was produced from the SP4 mask, which was a recast I think of Pauls screenused H4 mask and they made a mold out of it to produce the SP4’s. Thing is though is that after 30 years, the latex warped and had defects in it so it didn’t look completely like how it did on screen. That’s when Scott from QOTS retooled the SP4 mold, smoothed it out and took out the defects to make it look like the one seen on screen. That is how the Damned88 was made. The Damned88s retained more detail. I actually own Damned88 #1 and the first 6 pulls were really thin, and 21.5 inches so the smallest (so technically my Damned88 is the prototype as well as the other 6 first pulls including mine). After that they went back and sized the masks up to the other several Damned88s which were around 23-23.5 inches inside. I’m not really sure why they did it but they then went back and sized the mask again to make it even larger, around 24-24.5 inches inside I think. That’s how the Damned388 was made. So essentially the Damned388s are just larger Damned88s, but almost all Damned388s lost a lot of detail during the sizing process so they look less detailed and more washed out. So as of now there’s the Damned88s which are smaller and have more detail and the Damned388s which are larger with less detail, practically the same thing though. I’ve talked to Paul and he said they called it the “Damned388” because he offered the masks at $388. Paul said around 150 Damned88s were made and around 50 Damned388s were made before production stopped. So to answer your question, your mask is not a Damned88 but a Damned388, just a larger version of the Damned88 but it’s not a Damned88. You are also correct, Damned88s are from QOTS and so are Damned388s. Here, the first picture is my Damned88#1 that’s being painted and haired right now. The second picture is a really nice Damned388 blank I got. Hope this helps. Any old members can correct me on some things since not much is really documented on this mask unless you talk to Paul like I have. Enjoy!!!

My Damned388 blank:
Thank you for the photos and info! I’m not sure why Jamie Grove had it listed as a Damned 88 instead of 388. That bugs me but oh well. This pull is super thick too.
Yeah no problem. It’s okay, the Damned88s and Damned388s are confused all the time. Again like I stated they’re exactly the same thing but if you’re someone who has a good eye, you can tell a lot of the detail on the Damned388s are less prominent like the ones seen on the Damned88s. The only real way you can also identify the Damned88 and a Damned388 is by their sizes. Damned88s are smaller and Damned388s are larger. Also forgot to mention, the Damned88s are medium to thin pulls while almost all Damned388s are thick pulls. Here’s me wearing the Damned388, just cut the ear holes and nose holes myself to test it. Also like someone already said above, those eye cut do look goofy, I’d suggest for you to take them to someone to fix, unless it doesn’t bother you. (Facing the mask) The large left eye cut needs a lot of fixing from the bottom but the right eye cut seems fine, just a bit of tweaking. Also yeah my pleasure! It’s hard finding information about some masks at times.
Worn Damned388:
Yeah I forgot about that detail. I forgot the hero mask rotted away. Paul’s mask is one of the stunt masks. Not sure which one but many people said the one where Michael in H4 gets run over by Rachel towards the end of the movie, not too sure though.
It’s the mask that is on the mannequin when Rachel smashes into Myers with the truck and it’s worn by the 2nd prankster in the group of imposter Myers guys, you can see it has no neck extension by then
