This version is also the Directors Cut with the Theatrical Cut scenes restored where they belong but with the Directors cut ending.

I made Laurie a little less aggressive in this one by cutting out her initial attack on Annie at the breakfast table (Just like the TC version it cuts after she says “One day at a time”). This is quite effective to the overall picture. When Laurie tells the therapist how she feels sround Annie it seems a lot more chilling, like she’s holding in the anger. Also when she does start to go crazy it seems more disturbing as it’s not expected. It really feels like she’s quickly spiralling out of control.

I also restored the scene into the movie where Laurie wakes up from a nightmare and imitates Buddy’s voice saying “Don’t worry Laurie, that F’n Cock-sucker Michael Myers is dead. He can’t get you…” etc. This sequence I put after she wakes up from the black and white “Halloween banquet” nightmare.

I also slowly incorporated the “Halloween” theme as Laurie approaches Buddy’s shack outside the hospital and Michael pursues her. This is very effective.

Also some alternate versions of Carpenters themes throughout and a “Halloween theme” short tinkle when Michael puts the mask on before he attacks the Hillbillys.

The DC ending here doesn’t have “Love hurts”… Instead I used “The Host of Seraphim” from the group “Dead can Dance”. This song was also used during the finale of “The Mist” and I think it’s suitably sad and Haunting.
This music then mixes seamlessly into the slowed down “Lauries Theme” in the white room ending.

Here is both cuts. Both of them are variations of the same fan edit. Version one is the directors cut with the theatrical scenes restored, some deleted scenes and some rescored Carpenter music along with the theatrical cut ending.

Version 2 is also the Directors Cut with Theatrical scenes restored, some deleted scenes and alternate versions of the rescored Carpenter music but this one has the Directors cut ending. This one differs in how it’s cut and has a different feel to it. For example Laurie is less aggressive (I cut out her initial attack on Annie at the Breakfast table) and this version also contains the “Halloween” theme and the scene where Laurie wakes from a nightmare and talks to Buddy her bear. Little variations but overall a different tone to Laurie which makes it all the more tragic at the end.
