I’ve been deeply considering buying a “Dead Ringer” mask from Handiboy. To anyone who has purchased one, how accurate is it to the 1978 mask? Is it a hero as far as replicas go?
Pretty much the name alone is enough to convince me that it is hero accurate, but it’s your decision and what you like, the price is worth it and can be finished however you want it
I prefer it as a H2 , but to each their own

Is it very close? I’ve seen pictures of it, but I’m not entirely sure. Can you tell Nick to do certain things to it to make it perfect? The hair in particular is very important to me.
That’s totally up to you to decide. Many people have different opinions, it’s about how YOU see the hero!
I’ve seen pics of the Deadringer that made me think I was looking at a lost production still.
I think it is a solid sculpt but it needs to be overhauled to have a perfect 78 look. The details are a bit too prominent for my liking but as an H2 (“Dead Ringer '81”) it does look pretty good. I’d personally take a Creep / SHAT for H1 but it does matter what you see in The Shape. Whatever seems accurate to you!
This is yours? DR-H2? This is nice. I want and H2 but have been hesring shady things about Mr. Lambert at CGP. Nick has great work, but I’ve never seen an H2 version of the DR. It’s phenomenal!
Terry is shady. People defend him but it won’t change what he’s done over the years and I’m one who never received a mask I paid for during his “cancer” incident. But apparently now everybody has been getting their orders so it’s really up to you if you want to take the risk. The Warlock is only $240 and you have PayPal on your side if things go wrong. I agree that the Ringer looks much better as an H2

Yes, you can tell Nick how you’d prefer the mask. I’m having my DR done up as an H4 poster coverman.
It looks nice with certain finishes but not what I would call terribly accurate. For real accuracy you need to go with the various 75K variants and the Shat/Creep. I know it’s popular with the newer members so don’t kill me ok? lol Nothing wrong with liking any mask you want to like.
Feel the exact same way. For ultimate accuracy obviously the 4-Stamp, DB2 and 2K are the way to go but minus the extreme rarities you can’t beat a Shat or good 75k for H1 accuracy. The Ringer looks great but the details are too prominent and it takes away from the sculpt IMO
Yeah, sorry to hear that. Read a not so nice article on him on here. But yeah Nick’s work caught my interest a few months back. I went with a different H1 but this Dead Ring H2 is pretty sweet!
Ringer is Spot on H2… Can’t go wrong with the customer service… good people all around from 9 years experience…

For me, the Dead Ringer is proof of how different the hero mask appears to different people, and how subjective it really is. Personally, I’ve never cared much for it, even as an H2. Nothing against Nick M, he seems like a wonderful person, but something about that mask throws me off badly.
Love how his NHK looks, though.
If you like the Dead Ringer, get it, definitely. It’s a fairly popular choice.
For the money, it’s one of the best H2 out there, need to stuff it properly and play with the hair.
