Okay, so after his little massacre, young Michael Myers buried the mask and the knife under the floor of his basement. Simple enough, but the question that always boggles my mind is : How? How did the kid bury the mask under the floorboards when he had to tear up the floorboards to retrieve the mask and knife after his breakout as an adult?
Never thought about this until a couple months ago when I was watching it and my brother asked me “How did he get the mask under there?”
Doesn’t make sense to me either. It’s probably just a goof. Kinda like in H2 when Loomis is being interviewed in front of the Myers House and the balcony is still in tact when we know Michael and Laurie went through it in H1.
I agree that it probably was a goof, but here is a random scenario that I thought of just now. There could have been tools in the basement that he used to pry a board up or there could have already been a loose board and he just finished lifting it and when he was done he could have used a hammer to nail it back down.
I agree in that he probably used a hammer to pry up the floor board, stuck the mask and knife in, and then nailed it back down! Then when he shows up as adult Mikey he says hell with the hammer and just uses his brute strength and hands to rip up the floor board!
Agreed, best explanation. Wasn’t it in the attic though? I don’t know of many basements with floorboards like that.
No, it was the basement…or somewhere on the bottom floor of the house because he hears Laurie…i think above him…but no, not in the attic.
Maybe he crawled under? He was small enough. At first, maybe he was going to hide at from the cops. Changed his mind. Haha! I haven’t studied this film enough.
Oh! That’s right! It’s shitty writing that makes no sense. I remember now! Just picture little Mikey Myers with a hammer and nails going to town at this old floorboard. He had his bitty little carpenters nails in his mouth ready to bury his mask in the floor… Wait… I remember… Doesn’t make a fucking lick of sense! It took a minute. Sorry about the confusion…
No it makes sense, think about it. He killed the mothers BF, killed his sister and her BF, the house is empty it is detached, has you notice after he has killed them both he has not got the mask and knife, and why wouldn’t he be able to put it on the floor boards? its only one piece of wood he has to bury it in, the mask bends you know its made of latex, and a knife is also pretty easy to hide in a floor board. Michael’s mother has got a long shift, it gives Michael plenty of time to hide the mask and knife. It is only one piece of wood he has to nail down, not an entire floor. So I buy Michael burying the knife and mask in the floor board
Imo, I think that he planned the mask burying thing right after the murders. Think about it…this was a cold calculating killer. While institutionalized he had planned to escape the whole time. He knows he had a sister, and when Mom brought him the picture it ties into that. Also the fact that he explains to Dr. Loomis during one of the interviews " no I didnt do that". He knew to play the insanity role would keep him from going to prison from which there is no escape. The mental hospital there is. He had the background to back it up with the animal butchering, let alone the murders. And playing mask maker, where he is thought of as a harmless grown up infant who cant remember what he did. The Dr’s. think that he can be rehabilitated. Till Loomis gives up that is. Remember he whacked the nurse after an interview, that’s the first sign of escaping.
When the rape scene happened it clicked in his head of the sex scene of Judith and off he went again. Also I think he waited until Laurie was of the promiscuous age to escape. However what dosen’t click is he didn’t try to kill her, instead he shows her the picture of them together. Now that dosen’t click.
That is the only part that does not make sense, why does he not try to kill her? maybe showing her that is his brother, once she stabs him all bets are off and he tries too kill her
Thats always how i have viewed it. At first, he wanted to be with her, but once she stabbed him and ran he was determined to kill her. I think it goes back to why he killed who he killed in the first place. Everyone he killed was someone he cared about, but they hurt him. His sister was a mega bitch. Im sure he liked her boyfriend, because he was young, and im sure he wasnt the most friendly. Ronnie, while slightly funny at times, was a sonofabitch =p Then, once Laurie/Angel did the same thing, i think it snapped inside himself.
Actually I have no idea…I personally think they should have shown how he did it !! Especially if they went through the trouble of showing him tear up the floor… to retrieve it !!!
