Not really dude. Smoke is a mask’s worst enemy. Smoke sticks to everything. It’s probably in the hair permanently. The only other thing to do is to get it rehaired. That might just do the trick.
well baby powder sttracts to latex and i guess it can rot it , im not sure…and im guessing febreeze isnt well for it because it meant for house cleaning
Exactly what kind of smoke are we talking about here?I know I have to buy some plexiglass dollcases for mine since one of my masks now looks like a St.Pattys day edition Myers!
i actually just ran into this problem with a bunch of figures i just ordered. they had a very strong smoke smell stuck on the fabric and in the hair and accessories and stands after i received them. anyways i tried dryer sheets and left them in a ziplock bag for a week and that did nothing. i tried baking soda in a ziplock bag and putting them in the refrigerator, that did help a tiny bit. after looking all over for solutions on how to get rid of the smell i read about this product called atmosklear. everyone claimed how great it was, since i couldnt find it locally in any store (even though people claim to have found it in ace hardware stores) i ordered directly from their site http://www.maryellenproducts.com/All-Products/. i received it the other day and after spraying it all over my figures the smoke smell is completely gone.
the baking soda method i only tried on two figures and the rest of the lot still had a strong smell and this product got rid of the smell completely on all of them. it is non-toxic and has no odor. while i do not know if it will work on latex (i would assume it would, but maybe email them and ask) it will work on the hair without problems. i can’t recommend this product enough since i have finally found something to get rid of smoke smells since this is the second time i have encountered this problem with buying things from people. at least i do not have to worry about it anymore. hopefully this will help.
Man, every old MMP mask I used to buy would smell like smoke from hell. I would febreeze the inside once a day and then wipe it out. I would also sit the mask on a strong pumpkin spice scented candle for a while until it started to take away the bad smell. After a week or two of some refreshing, it got much better - but that smoke smell would still always linger a bit (it just smelled covered up). But at least I could wear the masks without about puking. After my 3rd MMP purchase, I decided I was done w/ them - glad too b/c they went corrupt shortly after.
