When dispaying a mask we can do a lot of things to make the Hero look perfect by stuffing it. How about a mask that you want to wear that is either large or needs filler in certain areas to give you that perfect look? I have some foam inserts but have no idea what type of glue to use so that the inserts will stick but removeable so as not to damage the latex on the interior of the mask. Any suggestions wouls be much appreciated!
The larger ones wear fine on my head. Since I have a little natural overbite I just open my bottom jaw without opening my mouth for a more elongated look, and if I want it a little wider on the open jaw I just add a little air to my cheeks to puff them out slightly. Neither is uncomfortable due to my odd bone structure.
you know, on some old masks of mine that were a little big… I had some foam inserts installed in the fashion of velcro.
HOWEVER- on my Destroyer, which is a hair big, I just went to Joanne fabrics, bought 1/2" foam and cut out a Mohawk strip and then a piece for the chin.
BUT I no longer attach the inserts via velcro OR GLUE- I just put them in place and slide on the mask making ever so slight adjustments and it works just fine! With NO glue or velcro… saves me from mucking up the insides in a ‘permanent’ manner so to speak.
But if you do want installed inserts just line up your foam and try the velcro dot or strip option then they are removable at least*
Good luck-
J
Larger ones i just wear a black beanie. Plus it keeps ya warm in the colder weather… I use them on my styrofoam heads too to black out the eyes as well as make the head seem larger.

What Benny said, dude. Just wear a small/thin/comfortable beanie and it will increase the circumference just enough so the mask fits nice and snug. I do the beanie route; however, I know when Dela Torre makes his RZ masks, he inserts a small foam strip that’s velcro’d on the inside chin area. So if you wanted to go the foam route instead, you can do that too.
Thanks, I appreciate the input. Unfortunately latex masks are hot enough and I live in LA so the beanie route would be great if it was not so hot. I guess i’ll try the foam inserts…just need to find the proper adhesive.
Now don’t laugh… I use a microfibre cloth folded in half laid across the top of my head, it lifts the mask up a bit and fills the top like I had Nick Castles crazy hair… well not quite, but it’s close.

Well to amend my earlier comments I tried on my new Creep last night and it wasn’t fitting like I wanted it to so I put it on again later and was moving it all around on my head and finally got it to hang well. I really had to push down on my head as my hair is pretty wild and bushy right now (and I don’t even have curly hair, it’s just thick). H6 masks all fit my head very well, same with H5’s and the Masketcase/JITB 4, I guess I have a George Wilbur/Don Shanks type head (figures my brother has a Castle head). Part 1 masks though I have trouble getting to hang right, probably because I only have one that’s a 24-24.5" mask, and the thinness of a lot of H1’s contorts the features because they are a little bit snug. My Sean Clark 75 though, because I asked Mr. Clark to make it wearable, is a 24" mask that’s thick so it keeps it’s features perfectly.
Any ideas on what glue/adhesives to use for foam inserts?
You can just buy velcro patches/strips at Walmart/Target and stick one inside the mask where you want it to go and stick the opposite to the piece of foam you plan on using. Then…kablamo!
I trimmed the bottom of the neck and glued some velcro squares on the back slits of my Myers mask cause it was too big and it fits perfectly now!
Only thing you have to worry about is that the glue won’t start to react with the latex/rubber, so if you get a chance, cut a tiny slither off the bottom and put a dab on and make sure it won’t start burning a hole in it!
*Literally trimmed off a few centimeters, nothing major, just enough to make it rest on the top of my head instead of my shoulders
