How do you strip the stock paint off your mask without a dreel

I’ve been trying to strip the stock paint off my 2018 mask to get better detail and I’ve soaked it over night and got some of it off the face but how do I get the stubborn parts off?

Tbh just paint over the old paint with flesh paint. It’s not necessary to remove it.
Well let me edit that lol. 2018 mask whatever color you use as a base coat just paint that over the existing paint.

You too Damien! I’m in Southern California now. Training up in your neck of the woods in September. Still have all my masks and still do Pasadena every 31st. It’s only 30 minutes away now. How are you man?

I know I could have just painted over it but the problem is when I did try to paint over it the layer of white was too thick and you couldn’t see any details so when I went to peel the layer I painted on it the stock paint underneath it started to peel off the forehead too so now I have to peel off the rest so it will be even

Ah I see. I have done that as well many times hahaha! Get naphtha and put a small amount on a white tshirt and rub it off. There really is no easy way around it. It’s a slow tedious process.

Hopefully the result will be worth it. It’s the first H40 mask I’ve ever owned so I try my best and show everyone the results

Wear it like that and go to the McDonalds Drive-Thru and place an order, while having one of your buddies film it riding in passenger- then post the video!

What’s your latex paint to water ratio?
The method I used when I used when I did rehauls/conversions was 50/50. And even then after every pass of the airbrush I would spray that over with a water bottle. Water wash, some stays most runs off but the result was that no coat was too thick that would hide the detail of the sculpt.

I unfortunately don’t own an airbrush and I mixed latex with my paint and it made the peeling worse

Yea if no airbrush then dilute the paint 40 water 60 and mix that first. Then add latex sparingly. Remember the latex is only for adding a thin layer of paint that won’t crack. :+1:

For some reason I had an easier time rehauling my Kills mask than the I am with my 2018 mask

All good buddy, don’t own as many masks now…just a handful but its good to see you on here.
Unfortunately this place aswell as hecamehome.net seem to be like graveyards at the moment.
Dont really see a lot of the older members and their incredible collections or those who used to post regularly. Its a damn shame. Glad to hear you are keeping well and again…good to see you on here.
