Hi everybody. I have a TOTS H40 mask that I painted with white and black acrylic and want to remove the paint so I can get this repainted. Anybody have any suggestions of how to remove? Thanks.
If you used straight acrylic, you may get some off with alcohol pads. If that doesn’t work, use a little naphtha on a paper towel. It’ll come right off. Just be careful with the fumes.
If I were to use the naptha safely, do you think it would take off the detail on the H40 mask?
Work slowly, and stop cleaning an area once you reveal the underlying paint layer.
I’m using naphtha to strip the factory paint off of my H40. One thing to look out for, the dissolved paint can build up in the cracks. Use a cotton swab or toothbrush soaked in naphtha to clean out the cracks.
