How to weather Halloween kills coveralls?

I was thinking about using liquid latex and then adding some black+gray. Anyone here have a better way of weathering them? Reference pics are also welcomed.

I just used liquid latex on mine and they turned out decent looking. I’m pretty sure there’s a thread on here with photos where someone used liquid latex on their’s as well.

I experimented a bit before i put actual material on my workrites:

First I sprayed the area I wanted the burns with clear spray paint, then I sponged on black acrylic with a bit of grays as well.
I think the most important part of the look is the black silicone; I applied some of it with a small paint brush, then smeared a little bit with my hands. I gave it a full 24 hours to fully settle, then lightly went over it with a blowtorch.

Do you think this could work without any fire?

Sure! Burning the silicone with the blowtorch just made the silicone look a bit more ashy, so if you skip that step, the silicone would just end up looking more black and a glossier.

Thank you

Thanks for all the help! what specific type of clear spray paint did you use? For the Rustoleum sprays, there are flat/matte, gloss, and low lustre.

No problem! I used rust oleum clear gloss, but the exact brand and amount of gloss isn’t too important.

What did you use for the blood on the gunshot wound? Also can you tell what exact products you used or does that not matter?

Jdf studios blood paint! It’s my favorite kind of “permablood.” I usually use two layers to make it look nice and wet.
I believe it was Rust-Oleum semi gloss clear coat, but I don’t think it matters what kind of clear coat you use, it’s just the base layer.
The Acrylic paint was Apple Barrel Black and Gray, but you can use any brand, i just picked it up from Michael’s.
The Silicone was “Sil J-B Weld 31919 Black RTV Silicone Sealant and Adhesive” that I got from Amazon.
Hope that helps!

Man I really appreciate it! I’ll start working on my 36R workrites now. One more thing what about the blood that’s not wet?

You could try mixing up a custom “dry blood” color with regular acrylics. I’m not too great on color mixing, so you might wanna check out a tutorial for that. Here’s a helpful one, just darken it up a bit and it should look fine! https://youtu.be/8Qmtcswr5F4

did you seal your work on the coveralls with any product? i was thinking of clear coating some areas of my coveralls to seal in the paintwork. i used artists oils to create the dirty mechanic look for the coveralls but they seem to rub onto your hands a bit, was looking for a good way to prevent any paint coming off/flaking. any help is appreciated

I used Dura-Clear satin varnish on the burns specifically, but the oil splotches on the coveralls I left as they are. I used watered-down black acrylics for the oil splotches, so they’re kind of dyed into the coveralls.
