I love Halloween (2018). But the more I watch the movie, the less I like it. And it could have been an amazing Halloween movie if it had followed in the footsteps of 1978. A dark, down-to-earth movie with Michael Myers acting as the Shape.
And there were loose plots that I expected more: the Strode family, Hawkins and Allyson. And the main focus was Laurie training at her house. But anyway, I see that on the internet, the community also thinks the same in the rankings or comments of posts, even comparing it to H20. And I was interested in knowing what the perfect Halloween (2018) would be like in your opinion.

I would have Laurie act more like H20 Laurie for a start. Better version of the character even though i overall dont like the film as much as 2018. I would probably also have her be the wife of Hawkins or divorced wife. Hawkins is the father of Karen. Replace Ray with someone who isn’t a walking advertisement for Darwinism. (seriously that guy had the survival instincts and brains of a cardboard box). As for Michael himself, i would have him move a bit quicker and less robot like, to me JJC moves more like Warlock than Castle. I would also have more scenes of him stalking during the day, walking around the school, etc. The scene where Allyson looks out of the school window to Laurie staring in, behind Laurie but much further away I’d have Michael staring in as well, observing 2 generations of the Strode family. Can’t think of anything else at the moment however I’ll edit this if i can think of anything else

Completely rid the whole beginning with the podcasters, take our Dr Sartain, take out that weird high school friend that died on the fence. Completely change Laurie’s story. Relax a bit on the comedy and make the movie what it was originally intended to be, a follow up to the original. I liked it! Don’t get me wrong but some of the jokes / dialogue / characters killed certain aspects of the movie.
I would have rather had a story where Michael escaped in 1978 and the opening explain how it took several months to get him. Though Laurie moved on with her life, her personality wouldn’t be wrapped around assuming Michael would come back, frankly I would have had her more as a side character. I would have had Michael’s escape due to a car crash during his transportation BACK to smiths groove from a prison, he’d have a more stalkerish background vibe. (Though I liked the mask) I would have given him a more modern mask as opposed to the one from 1978. Something that was a mix between the OG and 1985 DP the mask. The story would be about him stumbling into haddonfield and randomly stalking a female, whose friend just happens to be Allyson, again making Laurie’s character important but not the main focus. Id have Hawkins be a loomis replacement in a sense, having the town forget about Michael Myers, but have him have a connection back to the months leading up to catching Michael from the original, thus being the only other character that understands the danger Michael posses.
Michael would be stalking Allyson’s friend throughout the movie and midway Laurie would find a way to help along with Allyson. Though ultimately it would cost one of their lives. The ending would make you think Michael was dead forsure, but for them to actually kill Ben Tramer.
The timeline would be through a 2 day span, in which the main portion would occur during the day leading into night. With the ending night scene being him following a random female going back to her house after a Halloween party and Michael would be wearing an Emmet Kelly mask stalking from a distance.

In the 2018 film “Halloween,” a direct sequel to the 1978 original, Ben Tramer is notably absent. Set four decades after Laurie Strode’s original confrontation with Michael Myers, the plot centers on Laurie’s strained relationship with her daughter, Karen, as they face Myers once more. Although Tramer’s name is mentioned in the trilogy, he has no role in the drama, and Karen’s father’s identity remains ambiguous. The filmmakers chose to focus on the mother-daughter dynamic instead.
With Michael Myers meeting a gruesome fate in “Halloween Ends,” many loose ends remain for the franchise, leaving room for new directions and stories to keep it alive.
Yes, I am in the same boat as well.
