my favorite childhood halloween memory wold have to be when i was 6.i was walkin with my parents to the store and saw the michael myers mask i asked to buy it.i got and my dad converted it to an awesome mask !i went to a costume contest at my school and got 2nd place!i was so happy and was happier when i knew that my dad helped
Well, my fondest memory of a cild is when i was 9 years old, i begged my mom to take me to the movies to see the original halloween in “1978” - My mon m\was against it, because back then they were real strict on letting underage kids go to see an R rated movie, and my mom is old fashioned. But i love her, she is now 80 years old and still alive thank GOD! -
Anyway me and my mom, were really scared when we saw it, and my mom couldn’t believe that such a movie could have been made. But to be honest, we never saw the blood and guts as we now do in 2009 movies, we have come along way since 1978. Just like “tommy” doyle sais in H6 the curse, he said “I was only 8 years old when i saw him” - I guess its kind of significant to me, because i was 9, but now im 41, and still love to this day the Original Halloween movie, its such a classic. As i am so fond of Mask collection, i do not really own any great Halloween masks still today, so it would be an honor to win a shattner mask. I can still see my mom and i SCREAMING as Michael myers chased Laurie Strode across the street to the House, and laurie’s screaming “Tommy open the door” Tommy open the door pleeeeeeeeas" - hehehe Great Memory !
thanks for reading, and giving me a hope of a chance to win, this would be an Honor!
Sincerly,

I think it was this years Halloween! Yep this has been the best 3 years of my life and this year my girl (the reason for my happiness) wanted to dress up so we did and we had a ball!
I’m a very lucky guy to have found this girl and we will be wed this coming year! Here are a few photos of our get up, I think you’ll know who this is.

Ahh…well…it all started when…
I was a six year old boy living in my home town of Alhambra, California. This was when I truly began to fall in love with the holiday. My mom and I both dressed up in our batman costumes and went out to go trick 'o treating. I loved the idea and spirit of Halloween so much that I dressed up again in my batman costume the next day to go trick 'o treating. So my parents non-hesitantly allowed me to walk with them around the neighborhood in that same batman costume on the day after Halloween. I was receiving many peculiar looks from confused neighbors, but it did not matter to me because Halloween was very special Ever since then I began trick 'o treating until my junior year in highschool along with some haunted house decorating. When I became a senior I focused only on decorating the yard and the exterior of the house to provide that magical feeling to trick 'o treaters that I once felt when I was that six year old little boy. And that six year old boyish spirit is still in me when I celebrate Halloween. Let the memories live on…

For me it would have be when I was 7 years old in 1978 and I could remember looking through the newspaper so vividly and seeing the showtimes for Halloween and telling my parents that I wanted to go see it and then we went and saw it that night ,and I can remember seeing the lines of people waiting to get in and the poster with the pumpkin and it saying the “The night he came home”. The movie scared the the you know what outta me,mostly John Carpenters creepy score in the movie.Anyway that has to be the best Halloween memory for me. The theater is still in business and it brings back memories everytime I pass it, I will never forget how scary the movie was and how awesome my parents were for letting me see that movie ,Ill never forget it.
Every Halloween was like Christmas for me. My parents always struggled to make ends meet. I never received anything for Christmas as a kid, but I always put something together for Halloween. I used to use clothes around the house, my moms makeup, and lots of hair gel to become Dracula for Halloween. Halloween in Illinois is considered a kids day. People used to really take Halloween seriously. I remember seeing every house lit up with orange and purple lights, fog machines and strobe lights. The smell of fresh caramel apples roamed the air, while kids went door to door tricking, or treating. There used to be a Caramel apple factory just blocks away. Right next door to Farleys candy factory.
It was a thrill to see all of this! I mean, I grew up in the Ghetto and I used to travel far to get out of there. Things shaped up for me since then so I thank god.
October 1988. .
It was an exceptionally perfect midwest orange, red and brown october/Halloween weather.
My Aunt and my Mother were in the midst of a feud. . Being extremely close to her, my mother desided to prohibit her from seeing me.
Anyways, the man responsible for my love of Horror (My grandfather) came by to take me to see Halloween 4 THE RETURN of Michael Myers it was october 31st. It was a particularlly f#%$^in BEAUTIFUL autumn weather. . the sky was clear with clouds in the distance. . everything was very orange and very yelllow from the setting sun.
My grandfather came to pick me up. . my mother seeing my aunt waiting in the car prohibited me to see her. My grandfather (at the age of 80) wasa FREAKIN’ HUGE DUDE!! 6 ft 9in and 280 pounds of muscle (the dude kept and operated a farm, shoveled coal to keep warm and used barbells in the shed) gave her an evil glare. Picked me up and walked out the house. I got to watch Halloween 4 for the first time. . he took me because of how much i loved the original and the sequel when they boy first premiered on NBC a few years earlier.
My grandfather dropped me off later that night. . . and that was the last time I ever say him. . He lived 2 hours away from me and came to take me to see H4. . he died a few weeks later from 9 massive heart attacks. .
So for me. . that is also one of the reasons that Halloween 4 is one of the most important films in my life.
Thanks Sam for doing this! I really hope i win this one. . I have several orders ill be throwing your way as wel, SOON!!! l ![]()

My favorite halloween memory has to be when I was 6. I remember going to the halloween store and picking out my costume with my mom. I was going as a Ninja Turtle. Back then retail costumes were a lot better quality and I always wished they had this ninja turtle costume as an adult.Anyways I wanted to go as donatello so I did and at the last minute I wanted to have sais. So I went as Donatello with Raphaels weapons and had the absolute best halloween ever. The moral of my story is we get so wrapped up in screen accuracy we forget the spirit of halloween is to have fun and act out your character in whatever you are wearing. Let your imagination be your guide!
When I was little , my mom would only let me go trick or treating for a couple of blocks , then she would bring me home and I would be sent to bed . It was that way for a long time and it made me sad cause I loved Halloween and wanted to stay out as long as possible and not only get as much candy as I could , but also celebrate the holiday . When I was 9 , my uncle came over visiting on Halloween night and seen that i was already home and being sent to bed . He told my mom ( his sis ) that it’s too early and a bunch of other stuff to her about letting me enjoy Halloween . After a couple minutes of hearing them argue I walk away towards my room . All of a sudden he yells out my name to come to the living room . When I run in there , my uncle tells me to put my costume back on cause we’re going back out to get some candy . I look at my mom and she nods yes with a hesitant smile . That Halloween night , my uncle walked with me for hours around my city . He took me to a haunted house . Even though my legs were hurting and I was tired , I was having so much fun getting candy and meeting up with my friends , that I didn’t care . When it got late I was telling him the lights are off on different houses and people probably went to sleep . He still said come on , we’re getting you guys ( me and my friends that joined us later during the night ) some candy !!He never gave up . It’s one of my favorite memories of Halloween . The years after that on Halloween , my friends would always ask if my uncle will be with us . My mom lightened up a little more and let me go alone with my friends too after that year .

My favorite memory was the very first year I went as Michael. I had my 86 DP “The mask” and I just thought I was soooooo scary. I was so proud of that mask, I will never forget it----- I worked an entire summer of mowing my dad’s lawn just the way he liked it without moaning or whining ( that was actually part of the deal) 2 x a week every week. Mowing the lawn took hours since my dad ALWAYS found something I missed and made me pull the weed eater and mower back out.
I remember I had worked so hard, finally the day had come, he took me to “Larry’s Arts and Crafts” in Pasadena TX to buy the mask, 45 bucks!
I was so proud of it, and it was endless waiting till Halloween came, but finally it did. I was Michael, I wanted so bad to play the role corectly- I used to stand in front of the mirrir for hours, just breathing.
That Halloween I won a costume contest AND got a pillow sack FULL of candy, I do beleive its the best i ever did for Halloween. That is the fondest memory I have!
my favorite halloween memory was when i was 6 and i realized that halloween will always be my favorite holiday, and the best time of year.
I don’t know whether you mean “very first Halloween memory” as in the first time we watched one of the original series; or one of our first memories trick r’ treating. Either way, I what is considered to be both;
I was eather five or seven years old and as usual for any child that age on the night of Samhain, my sweet tooth kicked in. So, I went towards the backroom of my grandparents where my dad was checking my brother’s and I"s candy. He was watching Halloween 4: the Return of Michael Myers on A.M.C.'s Monsterfest. So praticly ignoring my hunger for chocolate, I sat down right where Jamie escapes the Sheriff’s house with Rachel being saposedly dead until the next movie’s end. I had (and still have to this day) this sort of empathy towards the wicked relationship of Jamie and her uncle. She drasicticly fears him, but still has this sort of wanting of him considering that (of her knowlage) he’s the only blood relation to her that’s living; she even refrains from assisting Loomis for about two-thirds of Halloween 5. My dad is almost overly strict and often at times, looses his temper when disipining; BUT HE’S NEVER ABUSIVE AND NEVER WILL BE!!! The ending of Halloween 4 is kind of symbollic to me; Jamie holding a pair of bloody scissors, in the very same clown suit her uncle wore when He killed Judeth, and her fauster mother almost bleeding to death. It spooked me into thinking “Oh my God! Does this mean I’ll be just like him (meaning my father) when I have children of my own?!”
My very first Halloween memory still lingers strongly in my thoughts today. I was 10 years old and my parents threw a Halloween party, inviting all my friends over. I was Dracula, complete with plastic fangs, blood capsules and store-hired cape. I thought I was so cool, although I look back at photos now and have a bit of a giggle. I would have gone as Michael Myers but at that age, and having responsible parents, I had no idea who he was. Our house was literally covered in Halloween stuff and I remember thinking how cool it would be if it stayed this way all year round. Anyway, the key thing I remember is that that party changed me forever in that it taught me that being scared could be fun and that Halloween didn’t have to be celebrated once a year - since then for me it’s been Halloween every day!

That would be my sons Halloween… OUR future members…
Joseph Ray… Now 6
Wanted to be Jason… Mom said no…

Gavin Gustavery…Now 7
Wanted SOOO bad to weare my Psycho at the time… Well, I said no on that one… But mom said this will have to do…

Memories I will NEVER give up…
I’d have to say my fondest is not one of my own childhood as I remember my mother was always great about getting me and my brother the best costume she could being a single mom but it was this year that was my favorite. I got to enjoy Halloween with friends for a killer wedding and later that night after a three hour drive back home to walk with my kids at the Halloween walk one of the local towns hold. My son was dressed as Michael Myers for the wedding and then Luigi that night and got comments from everyone at both events. My middle daughter was dressed as a witch for both events and I must say my biased butt thought she was one of the best looking witches I had ever seen along with my newborn who was dressed as a tiger. My kids know how much Halloween means to me and they for the first time really seemed to enjoy it just as much other then just getting candy. To see thier faces at the wedding and later that night was priceless. My friends wedding was great as we were all dressed like guys from Rob Zombies Living Dead Girl video and being in it was just a bit more of the icing on the cake with my g/f making the costume I wore in two days hand sewn. I don’t even think the kids got as much candy as past years but the fun of it and the scaring people made it great for them at the wedding and then that night where maybe Ben didn’t scare everyone but he certainly got the ladies to giving him hugs(got to love a 6 year old who gets the ladies lol)
I don’t expect to win this but if anyone had as great a day as I did with my kids then we all won as corny as that may sound. This is a hell of a contest and certainly made me think back to many great Halloween memories. Thanks Sam and Darren and congrats to whoever wins.

And the winner is.?.?.?.?
I was about 7 or 8, has been so long ago cant really remember the age,but it was around 1977…was trick r treating with my big sister and my parnets had a suprise for us after we were done. My dad has us all get in the car and go for a ride, i just had thoght we were going to get are candy checked(ya know for razor blades and things) Well we ended up driving down this dirt road,i cant still remeber the smell of the air (light burning leaves)and all the twists and turns. Houses were very far apart, then we came up to one house was all lite up, people everywhere standing in line(for what me and my sister and even my mother had know idea)
Anyhow we all get out of the car and find out its a haunted house, i was pretty scarred back then so i stayed close to my mom
So we waited in line and when when finally got up to the front low and behold it was THE GHOUL, one of me and my sisters favorite TV hosts we would stay up late and watch on Saturday Nite…We all got shirts signed by him and took pictures, that was my fondest memeory of halloween with my family.
Me and my sister never new my father new we stayed up late so it was vry cool of him to do that for us.
I am 38 now and have my own children,my mother and father are togther in heaven so fond thoughts of my family togther are very special ![]()

My favorite memory would be the last year I went trick or treating when I was 11. I dressed as a black ninja that year. Nothing really special about the trick or treat experience, but later that night I saw Halloween 2 for the first time on the USA network. I had seen the original the year before at a friends house and always remembered the ending. I was very anxious to see what would happen next. Despite being a school night, my mom allowed me to stay up and watch it alone. It was truly the one time I was uneasy watching a Halloween movie. Even today, if any of the movies ever gives me chills its part 2. For me, there was/is just something about the tone of it. The theme performed on a synthesizer organ, the skull inside the pumpkin, the overall dark tone of the film. With the exception of the dawn scene at the end, part 2 was all during nightfall. Even the dark hospital atmosphere was very erie. Out of all of my childhoods Halloweens, that is one I will never forget.
my favorite childhood memory is when I was around 6 years of age
and I scared my brother in a cheap Michael Myers mask … scared him silly to be exact hahaa

My family and me where watching Halloween on the 31st of October at round 11 pm, and every time my brother wasn’t looking
I would put on my mask that my mother bought me for Halloween that year
and stand behind him outside in-front of the window and just stare at him in the dark
making sure he saw me .
he was really freaked out by the end of the night…to say the least .
To finish him off , I stood behind his door at night and just watched him for awhile.
he swore the next day that he saw Michael .
It was really hilarious to me and my family , and everyone was in on it except my brother
.
this was about 14 years ago when it happened , but I can still remember it like it was yesterday .
thank you for making this post and letting me remember this time of my life
P.S. I really don’t expect to win with this story but I thought it was funny enough to share lol

My favorite Halloween story occurred four years ago at Tim Dunne’s haunted house.
Being such a huge Myers fan, I threw on my old Evilution mask I got from Justin and went up to Tim’s haunted house to scare some people for the night. I positioned myself in a small room and stood perfectly still propped up against the wall. The strobe light above created shadows that hid my eyes, causing me to look like a mannequin.
About halfway through the night, a group of 14 to 16 year olds came through. One looked at me with scared eyes, but then suddenly smirked, thinking I was just a manneqiun; a completey harmless figure propped against the wall. Just as he was about to pass me, I walked away from the wall and stood right in front of him, just staring. The kid did not know what to do. I saw his horrified eyes well up as he stared up at my mask. He moved fast to get out of the area, but I pursued just as Mikey would have. I followed him into the next room. And to the next. I heard his shrill cries as he repeatedly looked over his shoulder and tried to push his friends faster through the rooms in attempt to get away.
FInally, I had to return to my post and let the other actors take over. The kid must have been relieved, thinking he was safe. But of course, he was wrong. Seeing the kid’s reaction, I went around the haunted house and entered the final room from the exit. Silently I waited for him and his friends. When he finally emerged, the same look of horror came over his face. He was no longer crying, but he was trembling. He looked up at me and said “Dude, you are the scariest thing I have ever seen.” I remained silent, not breaking character.
This is one of the coolest things that has ever happened during Halloween. Seeing the kid’s terrified eyes made me realize how fun it is to be in character as Michael Myers.
Here is a link to the mask; these are the only pictures I have. This is the only way I can show pictures of the mask since I do not have it anymore.
