Hey whats up Michael-myers.Net…In the mess that has recently been brought up and cleared I have to say something on a few things…Fellow collector’s and friends It seems our beloved hobby is already in some trouble…Do we as collectors, artist, converters, and even mask makers want to see the Myer’s game shut down for good for legal issues with company’s like Trancas etc…There were a few people and they know who they are that literally went out of their way to contact Wayne Toth and try to say Sam re-casted his mask from the Mechanical Myer’s…Trying to ruin the rep of an artist is bad enough…But one of my main problems with this is that I truly believe that acts like this bring unnecessary attention to this board and the hobby in general…Here lately the bigger sharks out there have already been giving the hobby and collectors trouble for buying and selling non licensed Myers mask…Ive even heard talks that these bigger sharks have been trying to shut this place down…Shut Michael-Myers.Net down along with a few other forums for the same thing…In my personal opinion we are like an underground society and don’t need any unwanted attention from these bigger company’s…When people go out of their way to contact people like Wayne Toth with certain allegations on someone stealing his work that brings more heat to the hobby we all love…Aren’t we trying to keep this place going, keep collecting the most accurate Myers mask we can…What ever happened to talking things over first…Whatever happened to all us just being united by the same thing we all love and enjoy to do…In some cases people just need to mind their own business and do what they do…Not worry about what others are doing…People just jumped the gun and slammed Sam and It was wrong…Its wrong when it happens to any artist…But to go outside the board, the hobby and try to get the big dogs in here that is doing nothing but bringing attention to more than just the subject intended…I mean we know they all know about this place but why try to throw it in their face what we do…Why drop it right on their door step…I tend to believe that the reason why its lasted this long is because “Out of sight truly is out of mind”…They have bigger fish to fry but if you keep dropping the meal in their lap they wont forget about it and its going to be burned in their heads that we are here collecting Myers mask from Indy mask makers…Acts like that can potentially have these big company’s say enough is enough and go after all of our favorite artist…Myers is the blunt 90% of what I collect…Some artist are very talented converter’s of the Myer’s mask and some mask maker’s main focus is the Myer’s mask…I want to try and keep this hobby going, not try and shut it down by constantly reminding these big Sharks that we are here…I know some will not agree with me and thats fine…Nothing anyone can tell me will change the way I feel on that…I sincerly dont think its wize to do such things and It brings unwanted attention here…More than there is already anyway…Im not trying to start another battle thread as we know thats the last thing this place needs…All im trying to say is that if we want to keep this place around, keep the hobby around and continue to enjoy the best myers mask from the best artist we need to think a minute before we do such things…If the Mod’s feel this should be deleted or locked I understand and just might agree…I had to say this though…Later guys

We have a wonderful small circle of artists and fans that its a shame something like this had to happen. Its a disgrace and this selling out is going to ruin EVERYTHING for all of us…from artists to fans.
Now names were thrown around and mentioned as to who betrayed Sam and went to Wayne…I just wish that the person/people behind this would come forward and be honest so that I and others will never contribute one penny to your work.
Its a shame what was done to Sam and it also makes no sense now for some to attack Nik. This is starting to become a friggin witch hunt hysteria.

I completely agree. There are a number of amazing artists on this site that sell their masks, allowing all of us to buy what we feel is the best Myers out there, wether it be Halloween 1978, Halloween 2, 3…all the way to Zombie’s H2. I have heard that the people in charge of the films are trying to shut different sites down, that the actions on e-bay as of late are examples of what could come. I never want to see this site shut down or the independant artists because of all the new creations they make available to us.

Im glad you guys agree…I dont want this hobby or the “Shape’s” home to vanish…I dont want a battle started and I just hope that the person who did go outside here to the bigger party thinks before they make accusations to such bigger party…We just dont need that kind of attention in the current state the hobby is already in, it causes nothing but more trouble for everyone, all of us, collectors and mask makers…I wont mention names as its not my place but I do hope the Person’s realize what I was trying to say…Thanks guys and keep it cool

I’m too new here to really know the ins and outs of the sculpting community but I do know that, as an artist, if you feel that someone has stolen an idea from you or outright stolen your work and called it theirs you’re going to do whatever you can to get the situation rectified. I also know that it is best for this community to stay below the radar.
We’re all here because we’re fans of Michael Myers and Horror movies in general. We all know that the mass produced masks and other odds and ends for our favorite horror villains (Michael or otherwise) are generally crap. Thankfully we have a lot of amazing artists out there that are as fanatical as we are and they’ve all given us some amazing things. They’ve dedicated their free time to making the movie accurate props for us that the movie studios or IP owners can’t or won’t. When people start calling attention to this scene and the sculptors that are making these amazing masks it can only be bad for us. Contacting Wayne Toth was probably not the best thing to do in terms of our survival. Hell, look at all the crap HipBonz was causing on ebay last week with some of our member’s listings and they’re just small fish. This whole incident has been one big signal flare to powers that be.
Like I said, I understand the artists point of view but I also understand the jeopardy that this whole scenario has put the fanbase in.
We’re a small, underground community. In order for us to survive we have to stick together and support each other. If problems arise they need to be delt with, but delt with within the family. Think of it as the “Myers Mafia” and we’re all bound by the oath of Omerta: “Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, “If I Live, I will kill you. If I Die, You are forgiven.” Such is the Rule of Honor.”

There are 2 OTHER people that were responsible for this whole thing and they are sitting back watching. They aren’t worth mentioning. Actually one is banned from here and STILL is sending me threats. Some people never learn.

I will say that the whole reason this happened is the other people are coming out with RZ masks and they thought it would be a good idea to lynch me. I know exactly who contacted Wayne. His reward will come.
I just want to say good luck to the other “mask makers”. This is a free society and competition drives the economy.
