ok, well seeing all the negativity towards this film, i thought id make a post to show my love for it, i thought everything about this film was brilliant, now there was alittle over the top swearing, but i liked everything else about it. the kills were definitly the best kills ive seen in any movie. Michael was so much more brutal, and violent, which i loved. this film was just so much more hardcore than any other halloween film, i think rob did an amazing job, and tyler as michael was the best choice rob could make. tyler fits the part perfectly, he is very intimidating. now, i only want ppl to post thoughts in this thread that are POSITIVE TOWARDS THE FILM plz do not post in here with the negative BS, thank you, and i cant wait to see what everyone else who liked the film thought about it, thanx, Z
Hell yeah ! I LOVED RZ H2 aswell !
finally! lol, someone who shares a love for rzs halloween films, it was def amazing!!!
Just finished watching it again. I love it so much. The directors cut is perfect!
Yeah mutch more hardcore indeed, I loved the movie too but not just for the violence (Don’t get me wrong the kills was awesome)… I like the way Rob mixed/fucked up things with the caracters, lots of people hated Laurie but I didnt have a problem with her in fact i thought it was a realistic twist in the movie. I also love the dark story , its not often you see things like that in a Halloween movie and in my point of view that was the right way to go.
Maybe it was just me but I become so emotional watching some of the scene in the movie, at one moment I thought I was going to cry AND THATS NOT OFTEN ITS HAPPENS FOR ME!
Overall I really liked this movie for its dark tone and emotionals scenes, when the movie was over me and my girl was just sitting with our mouths wide open… And the real good part was… She dosn’t like horror movies but she loved RZ HALLOWEEN AND H2! just that says it all.
I loved michael’s last word;“die!”
I just dont like the unrated ending…
Very smart to point out that you didn’t want negativity as a response. You know for a fact if you didn’t say that this would’ve turned out to be a bash.We can’t even express ourselves here in the “Rob Zombie’s Halloween Films” forum. It’s ridicuIous.Meahwhile,I dislike everything about Halloween IV-Ressurection and never bashed the movies to the fans on this site.It would be simple enough to just say “I don’t like Rob’s films” instead of griping and complaining over and over again.
I truly love Rob Zombie’s take on Halloween and this film was great in many ways.I watched the Director’s Cut and thought it was WAY better than the theater release. The story was full and Scout did a fantastic job.Tyler Mane is right up there with my favorite Michael’s.Castle and Warlock.Perfect posture and movements.I just think he’s great.Don’t get me wrong, there are only a couple of things I’m not wild about in this movie, but no need to even discuss it.This really is a GREAT Halloween film…PERIOD.
now thats exactly what i was hoping to hear my friend, thank you, it would have def turned into a bash thread, and quite frankly, i seriously hate all the BS Bashing, thats all i ever see is bashing, and i completely hate it, keep them thoughts comin guys! Z
Yeah I also started a thread about how much i enjoyed it, I enjoyed the unrated cut SO much more than the theatrical, you could tell it was chopped up. But the directors cut puts the focus back on the story which is as ive said before, the deterioration of Lauries mental state following the events of part 1. Part 1 is a Michael Myers film, part 2 is a film about Laurie Strode. Its a solid character study, the cursing doesnt bother me because no matter what people want to say, PLENTY people curse as if its second nature and dont give it a second thought. Overall I am very pleased with the Myers story Zombie has told. TO me it is better than all the sequels and his version of myers has become more interesting to me than the previous versions. Halloween 1978 will still always be my favorite movie of all time, but Rob Zombies Halloween has gone right up there with it.
Yeah Tyler mane is a great Michael myers and Randy you are absolutely right about him IMO.His posture and movements are perfect and I think he has been the best myers since castle and warlock…Alot od people soly dont like him because of his height…Well I say that his height has no bearing on how he plays the role…Id rather a bigger myers than castle rather than a smaller myers…Its more frightening to me…Plus I dont really look at height anyway…I look at the portrayal of The original myers and Tyler pulled that off the best since warlock IMO…I think he was just a great myers…The only thing I could have gone without was the grunting…And the RZ mask is just killer…Im not a fan of the half face version but the bullet hole mask in the begining and revolver cover mask is just sweet as hell…Very creepy mask IMo…Later guys
People get mad about the dialogue, well thats how people talk, there is just as much cursing in a tarantino movie or a scorsese movie…but for some reasons those guys get passes.
I have also heard people complain about how they didnt buy Lauries bad girl act…THAT WAS THE WHOLE POINT, it WAS an act and her way to try and pretend she is strong and trying to deal with what is happening to her, her NEW friends bought it because they didnt know her, Annie didnt for a second because she REALLY knows LAurie and is her best friend. I thought it was played perfectly by Scout.
I loved both RZ Halloween and RZ H2. By far my favorite in the series since JC Halloween.
H2 is my favorite of the series now. Rob made a serious effort with both of his films and it shows.
There is a substantial movie here with a real story to tell. It is brutal and realistic. It is logical and totally engrossing.
I honestly have nothing bad to say about H2. I loved every minute of it. I think it is highly misunderstood.
I think many people get caught up on superficial BS. Like the way Michael is dressed or the supposed unrealistic dialogue.
Maybe the dialogue isn’t quite as cinematic as some people are comfortable with but it is highly realistic and
definitely fits.
Also, I think Rob Zombies Michael Myers is far scarier than any of the previous movies. Don’t get me wrong I adore
John Carpenters Halloween but the original Shape is more akin to a fantasy. It’s evil that can’t be killed. It’s
unrealistic but fun.
Great topic BTW. I’m glad there are others here that loved Rob Zombies take on the franchise as much as I did.
5 Scenes stand out to me as quintessential Myers
RZ H1-When Michael is watching the movie behind Lindsey.
RZ H1-When Michael Sets the Trap for Laurie, using Annie and her bf hangin by him with the pumpkin smashed over her head.
RZ H1-When he emerges from the Shadows while Annie and her BF are on the couch making out and swiftly disappears.
RZ H1-When Laurie falls into the pool and he is walking back and forth observing her
RZ H2-The Hospital Scene, MASTERFUL.
my thoughts exactly man
I liked it…it kind of reminded me of the butterfly effect because it never stayed with 1 topic it was all over the place but it was cool…
VIVA LA RZ H2
I don’t care who hated it or liked it…
I love it!
I love how powerful
he is now and not getting
kicked out of a window by
a rapper!
-Big D
My thoughts exactly brotherman!
i am a huge fan of zombies visions HUGE!!! i must have seen both of them about 30 times i seen the 1st one about 20 times im only on like 7 for the 2nd so far … i just want to throw something out there people always compare RZ to JC which is dumb because rob wanted to make it his own and that he did and people get mad because its nothing like the original … THATS THE FU@#ING POINT … also one last thing to add which i think is very very important back in 78 there was not much which is why JC version was amazing but over 30 years later it has all been done before so it would of been very hard to make something fresh and new and still be scary but rob zombie did that … if the movies didnt have the name halloween on them there would not be one person who wouldnt like it
