My main mask is getting a little soft what should I do? I don’t keep it in a case or anything cause they are really expensive.
So it’s damp? Do you maintain it at all?
If it was super dry I would be worried that causes the rot. If it’s damp and sticky, put some baby powder inside the mask. Keeping it in a plastic bag will help protect as well. Is it near sunlight at all?
It’s on top of a shelf in my room on a stand it doesn’t really get any sunlight. I noticed the mask use to be more stiff. I only put it on on halloween. I never really did any cleaning on the mask.
Ok well its not on a Styrofoam head is it? They can damage latex as well.
Wash with mild dish detergent and water, inside and out, and dry completely, get some aerospace 303 cleaner and do the same thing. Then get some baby powder and shake it up on the inside and your good to go. I wouldnt be too worried about the mask being soft, like I said when it’s too dry that’s when rot will occur. It’s probably been softened up from the oils and sweat from your skin when wearing it.
What about the outside? I have some dawn dish soap distilled vinegar and corn starch.
Don’t need to powder the outside. Does your mask have any signatures on the inside ? Yup cornstarch will work, never tried vinegar, ill look it up but ya even just detergent /water and then cornstarch will help.
Would love to see a pic of your mask(s) too.
There are several 303 sprays witch one should i get off Amazon?
So just use dish soap and water, then dry completely for outside. Then use the 303 when you get it.
Ok thanks ima order it now
No problemo dude……!!!
holy smokes… that H20 is drop dead gorgeous… that’s my favorite mask of them all and yours is tge best I’ve seen. Wow

That’s really a nice Winston version bud. BTW whoever said vinegar in the first place is crazy
I swear it wasn’t me.
Thanks I’m 100% sure I own the best h20 mask out there besides the screen used mask
Unfortunately, it seems like your mask, given what you’ve stated, and from my experience with that exact scenario, indicates that your mask is in the beginning stages of rotting. SSN masks have never naturally been softer.
The 303 aerospace is a great idea. But, once the rotting procedure occurs, there’s very little if anything that you really can do, at that point, to reverse it. You caught it at a great time, though.
If I were you, and you want to preserve its structural integrity, I highly, highly suggest you pay someone to foam fill it for you. Yes, you’ll never get to wear it, again. But, it will maintain its shape, and you’ll enjoy it for years to come. DM me if you want my recommendation on who you should have it foamed by. It won’t break the bank, if you go this route.
Good luck
