I am going tomorrow to Ikea to get one of these display cases and I have seen alot of you have these already. Fortunately I have a store an hour from my house here in Ohio or I would have to pay like $300.00 total to get it shipped instead of $69.99 in store. Amazon even has them now but they are like $278.00 shipped
Has anyone had any quality issues with these that you can share?
They look awesome online and in this forum, but wondered also about the best lighting setup that some of you may have done also.
the Detlef Display Case looks awesome. I will post some pics tomorrow. My TOTS Halloween 2 mask is in that Case and wow…with that one Light on that top of the Case it’s looking very good to me.
The cases are Great, easy setup. As far as the light, I moved it from center of case to the front of the case to light up all shelves. If it is mounted Top dead center it only casts on the top mask,! Anyway, You won’t be disappointed in the quality of the case. Bob
I use it for my toys, and masks.
I believe the shelves can hold upward of 70 pounds each, so … no worries there. It’s just glass, wood, and a steel frame for the shelves.
My only complaint is that there are slight gaps in the doors, so you do have to dust every few months.
I’ve had my Black Detolf Display Cases from Ikea since 2010, and I love them… I’m always moving things in, and out of the room my masks are in, and lets just say I’ve bumped them (Pretty hard) many, many times, and to my suprise, I’ve never had an issue where one shattered, cracked, loosened, anything… They still look great cosmetically too! So as far as durability goes, they’re very good if you ask me.
As far as lighting, last I remembered Ikea had a fair selection of different LED lights in different styles, and colors. Each case has a hole at the top where you can run a light/lights through if you’d like. It can be a cool addition, especially in a Dark, or dimly lit room, IMO.
Thanks guys and I picked it up today with the Ikea LED lighting that allows you to change color with spin of wheel. Looks great but I have to figure out how to hide the wires better.
