So, as most of us know, they used a different interior/exterior location when it came to the Wallace house in the original “Halloween”. That being said, I believe the same thing was done for the Doyle house (though, I’ve never seen it mentioned before). The reason I think this is the case is how the front door famously changes the way it swings open, from the point that Laurie reaches the house (running from Michael), to when Tommy opens the door for her. The hinges are on the complete opposite side of where they should be. Plus, there is a patio door behind the couch, when it should just be a window. Does anybody know if there was, in fact, a different interior used? If so, is it known which house it was? Thanks!
The downstairs part of The Doyle House was filmed inside 1533 N Orange Grove Ave, Los Angeles (the same house where Laurie is ignored after pleading for help). Its backyard also appears to be the location where Laurie sees The Shape in the clothesline scene.
I believe the upstairs part of The Doyle House was actually filmed inside the same house used for the exterior, at 1530 N Orange Grove Ave, Los Angeles. I also believe that Laurie’s bedroom and The Wallace kitchen were filmed in this house as well.
Was just wondering this yesterday while watching the movie, thanks for the info Mr. H!
