Hello so my favorite mask (TOTS H6) started rotting around the edges of the neck area after a good solid 3 years of heavy wear. I tried cutting around the edges to save it but it didn’t help and now the mask looks ridiculous when I wear it. Is it at all possible to replace/reapply the parts I cut off or am I out of my most favorite mask? Thank you
It would probably be cheaper to buy a whole new one… but you could apply strong duct tape around the bottom, where the old neck part used to be, and then slowly and gradually paint with liquid latex onto it, until you have rebuilt the neck; but then you’d need to paint it the same… just buy a new one, dude. What’s 60 bucks these days.
I’ve bought six others and none of them fit the same or have the same look. TOTS are so inconsistent especially with the hair. Thanks for the idea I’ll give it a try
you can patch and fix the area, but that will not stop the rot. once its starts its slowly decaying.
If you really want to, you could cut away the most crumbly or gummy areas.
then glue pieces from a cut up baldcap in place to elongate the neck. glue them in with E-6000 glue, rubber cement or speed-sew
once there in start thickening it from the inside of the mask, paint on layers or liquid latex and seperated cheesecloth plys
when its a good 4-5 layers, go in and start brushin on more latex on the front of the neck.
Use a thin seperated kleenex ply glued down smotth overtop of the new neckline to hide the seam, then latex layers overtop
the only real work is painting the neck to match or re-painting the whole mask
Is that pieces of the latex at the bottom of the picture?
