Is it safe to put silica gel packets in a mask?

I’ve been storing my masks with about a squared inch silica get packet in each to keep out excess moisture. Is this safe for the latex itself? Can the silica dry out the latex itself and make it brittle?

I removed them, but I don’t know how I’m going to control the humidity in summer. I live above a laundry room too so sometimes it can get a little dank when there’s a lot of action down below.

Buy a small hygrometer off amazon or home depot/lowes/menards so you know what the relative humidity in the room is at all times. Then, if needed, get a portable dehumidifier. 50-60% humidity is basically the golden range.
