Ok so the other day I was surfing the net and ran across some information on the upcoming Halloween 3D. Is it fact or fiction or just rumored, that John Carpenter is going to be one of the writers for the new film? As If he was in some way helping with the film it would be a positive thing. What is your thoughts on this?
Not even JC could save the franchise now.
well I dont think anyone really knows whats going yet but I do know that JC will not be at the helm…Sheriff B my man I have to disagree a bit…Although the series is trouble I would venture to say that JC would be one of the only ones who could bring the series back to life
I pray that they do not continue Zombie’s version and create a Halloween 9. At least that would be watchable. I know there are a lot of Zombie fans here but I, personally, just find his Halloween films to be complete $#!%. It’s like pissing on someone’s grave what he did to the franchise.
Just for the sake of debate,I must say I could not disagree with that more.I think it was refreshing to not see a Halloween movie that was so poorly written and void of imagination.I think Tyler Mane is in the ranks of Castle and Warlock.I actually think his portrayal of Michael Myers is so refreshing and brutal,it actually made me love Halloween films again. In my opinion,H4-Resurrection(I actually had to check the order of the movies to make sure Resurrection came last, since they are all equally horrible to me) are garbage.I try to sit through any of those films when they pop up on t.v. and I can’t force myself through them.Just my 2 cents.
Hey, debates are welcome and good to see differed opinions. Like I said, I know there are a lot of fans of Zombie’s vision for the franchise, I just find myself thinking “WTF?!” when I watched them. I agree most of the sequels were crap. I enjoyed H2, H3, H4, H6 and H20. H5 and Ressurection were pooptacular. However, I’d rather have 10 pooptacular movies than one more Zombied Halloween movie.
I agree with the following, Zombie’s version to me, is unwatchable. Even thought the other sequels are very close to unwatchable.
Fair enough guys.Differing opinions is what makes this place great
I love 'em both - wasn’t too hot on RZ’s H2, but I REALLY like the masks. And of course, we FINALLY got a long haired/bearded Myers
IMO Zombie should have stuck to what he did the best. I love his music but I think he is not fit for the movies. Again this is my opinion and Im not cutting anybody down.
We already had one named SwampBilly .
Really!!! wow, I must disagree with you my friend lol. Putting his version of Halloween aside, His first 2 movies are 2 of the greatest horror films of modern times. He put new life into the genre when it was almost completely DEAD!! I believed he saved horror films. Now if he just would have created a “BRAND NEW”
Horror icon instead of trying remake something that was already almost perfect maybe alot of the haters would be calling him a genius as well. I dont really understand why he wanted to Re-imagine Halloween when he clearly had enough of a vision to create something completely new that we could all love.
Just my 2 cents.
Jamie
It really took me awhile for Rob’s first Halloween go grow on me but after watching it over and over I really started to enjoy it. His H2 wasn’t the greatest but definitely more refreshing than Busta Ryhmes doing karate on Michael!!!
Hey man no worries its all good. To each our own.
Zombie should concentrate on music rather than cinema. Even on his latest albums, Educated Horses and Hellbilly 2, you feel that he is dispersing his energies. In my point view, Zombie should not have touched Halloween at all.
I miss the good years of White zombie…
Awesome character fella’s…This is how it should be…Different opinions without an argument…Different strokes for different folkes…This is basically how it is for me
H1-Classic/Best and the original(what made Halloween)
H2-Classic/2nd best of the original(What defined Michael)
H3-Crap(A Halloween title without Michael myers is justa bad idea)
H4-Decent(Stroy started slipping a bit but had a great Halloween season vibe
H5-Mask was horrible IMO and story line was bad with a horrible ending)
H6-Loved the Halloween vibe and sinister looking mask…(Take away the whole thorn bit and black robe man/Dr.wynn and I loved the movie)
H20-Story line was ok…(I hated the fact they left out the other films as if they never happened…Hated the 20 different mask bit but the winston was a sweet mask)
H8-Worst in the series for me(A fake Martial arts rapper kicking michaels ass is just down right horrible)
RZH1-Like the new take on myers and costume is wicked…Tyler mane was the best Myers since warlock IMO…Still kept to some original traits of the classic but \at the same time was a fresh take on Halloween)
RZH2-IMO would have been a great slasher but not so much a Halloween movie…Just couldnt get over the Hobo look, dream sequence, and childish manner of of Michael…It just didnt feel like a Halloween film to me…The first 15 minutes through the hospital kicked ass but was hard to watch after that…Just my opinion though
Thats how the series runs for me fell’as…So I guess you can see past the original H1 and H2 there were things I liked and hated about the rest of the entire series…I try to take things for what they are worth and enjoy what I can
Honestly I can’t see Carpenter being involved. He didn’t even want to do H2. Plus back when they did H20 with Jamie Lee Curtis they asked Carpenter he said no thanks.
IMO Zombie should have stuck to what he did the best. I love his music but I think he is not fit for the movies. Again this is my opinion and Im not cutting anybody down.
I AGREE MAN, THIS PIC IS DECEIVING, LETS JUST SAY HE’S NOT VERY DOWN TO EARTH (COUGH) DIVA. JUST SAW HIM WITH ALICE COOPER AND HE ONLY PLAYED FUCKIN 7 SONGS AND HE WAS THE HEADLINER…?
