It really just comes down to how you look at the mask and what it means to you. It kind of reminds me of the cover art from H4 too.

In your opinion, does the Halloween 4 poster mask resemble the mask in part 1 or part 2?
Many people may not know this, the cover art from H4 is directly inspired by a painting of the H2 mask, which is essentially the same as the H1 mask.
Ι just read on a reddit forum that the photo on the h4 poster is a Dick Warlock behind the scenes photo from h2. If that is true that is amazing.
So, the scoop I got is that it started as a photo like you mentioned, which was then turned into this super realistic painting. After that, they took another photo of the painting and played around with it in Photoshop to create the cover art for H4, adding the house in the background and the Halloween text as well.

Very good analysis. It’s definitely a Dick Warlock photo as the cheeks look rounded whereas Nick Castle had a more narrow face.
