It has been awhile, some new additions...

Hello guys,

It has been awhile, being a father is amazing… I mean that, the thought of being a father changes once you actually become one, I’m sure most of you can relate… and it takes much of my time especially because I’m also studying at an university at the same time. Time management has been bizarre!

I found a costume shop by a dumb luck and was able to work out a deal on these three masks… I wanted five masks from there but only could work out a deal on three of them.

Original vinyl Don Post 1967 glow Skull… This thing is HUGE!

Next to my original vinyl Don Post 1967/1976 Skull that I found in another costume shop while back for comparison…

Vintage Don Post 1975 Wolf Man… It’s in a rough shape and needs to be foam-filled.

Vintage Cesar Marx Groucho… Same kind of mask used in the 1980 “Terror Train”. I personally have never seen the movie but, luckily, I knew of the mask.

Now, something Myers-related… I bought a Don Post 1985 “The Mask” off eBay recently, it’s in a great shape. Also, I ended up with an all-original 1996 Sean Clark Small '75, the mask that started it all for the Myers market, through a trade with Josh. Thanks, Josh! I love this piece, the iPhone 5 pictures doesn’t really do it justice, the details on it are definitely from a '75 Kirk and you would have to see it in person to really appreciate it.

I hope you enjoyed the pics, thanks for looking!

Dang dude these are some awesome pieces!!! Great scores! I always hear about people finding these incredible masks randomly at shops but alas, no luck so far lol!

Great scores, Love the vintage Don Post stuff. I will be glad when I can start picking some up myself’.

Great to see ya back ole buddy! :sunglasses: :sunglasses:
Yeah I remember them skulls being HUGE. I prefer them that way.lol
Lovin that Sean clark Small…Awesome!! :astonished:

Hey Colby  ! I’m so glad father hood is agreeing with you. Sounds like you’re a happy man.
I am really digging that wolf man :open_mouth:
Nick

Congrats on some amazing pick ups. Fatherhood is in fact, amazing.

Thanks for the comments, guys! Keep looking, alive03, I guarantee you that they are still out there somewhere!

I’m glad you guys like the Wolf Man, it’s a shame that it has been rented out so many years but many kids probably had fun with it in the '70s/'80s. Yeah, Antho, I think it’s the same kind of fiber used on Kirks but I’m not sure as I have never owned a Kirk… UGH… One of those days, hopefully! Lol.

K-Man, thanks for the welcoming words! I’m glad you appreciate the SC Small like I do, it’s funny how most of the original buyers back then complained about it being so small. I probably would have complained as well if I was under the impression that it was a wearable mask as it’s definitely not! Lol. I see it as a great display piece. I had never seen a large Skull in person before, I thought the one I already had was the one that was considered large by collectors.

Good to hear from you, Nick and Joey!

Fatherhood is the most amazing thing! I am so glad to hear how enthusiastic you are about it!

Great scores… and I love that 75 Wolfie! :open_mouth: I hope to begin picking up a few more DP pieces over the next year.

Good luck with everything, Colby!

JC

Good going, Colby. Nice new additions but that fatherhood one is going to last you a long long time! Just like the others, will require baby powder & some stuffing…With food. :stuck_out_tongue: That wolfman looks to be the 2nd coolest pick-up. The hair does look nice.

Great to see you back on the boards Colby. These are some sweet scores, that skull is massive, lol but great and that SC Small has always been a dream score of mine, it just looks so cool.  -Tom

Nice scores! The skulls look good.

Congrats! Some great additions to your collection. I love your style!

Yeah, JC, fatherhood is amazing… It’s not as hard as I thought it would be, maybe it’s because it’s much easier when you really love it, I feel like a kid again through my son!

Thanks, Paul! Yes, my son is definitely the top score! Speaking of my top score, here he is sporting the Spider-Man outfit. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you, Tom! It’s good to hear from you, buddy! You definitely should get a SC Small '75 one day to display alongside the best copy of DB Kirk out there!

Thanks for the great words, John and Matt!

Thanks Colby, this DB is a true gem. And massive congrats on your little Spiderman, being a dad must me amazing. I’m sure I’ll be one myself sooner or later.  -Tom
