Jigsaw/Pigface Cosplay: The Rebirth of Don Post's Pig Mask-Book I

For quite some time for as long as or longer than June, 2nd of 2024 in the R.P.F. (Replica Prop Forum), my OCD fueled me on the war-path to re-create and replicate the screen-used Jigsaw Killer costume as seen in the original 2004 slasher-film blockbuster, SAW. One of the costume’s main piece of interests in this topic will be Jigsaw’s Pig Mask. If some of you know already, I’ve made many updates on the R.P.F. on the subject, but basically, for those who don’t know, I was making a digitally-modified sculpted 3D model of the Don Post Pig mask( The mask that was customized for the SAW movie), using a pre-existing pig head model, heavily customized to look visually similar to the actual Don Post mask, as the previous model left un-sculpted looked more like… “Jigsaw’s” Pig mask in Spiral. for a while I was only stuck using nothing but the only two promo-shot product images of the Don Post Pig which WERE sold for a while over at Trick Or Treat Studios, but there seemed to have been a form of product shortage on the Don Post Pig masks they had been selling , which is why I am going to make my attempt to digitally sculpt it using images and profile shots to add every details on top of the model, re-shape the head’s overall form and re-position the facial features to gain HOPEFULLY some …..“accur-esque” detailed results. Currently, I have saved the model’s file after smoothing out and balding out the gore’s texture to nothing (erased the gore texture), due to just recently acquiring new reference pictures from a helping hand in the crowd who was kind enough to share taken pictures of the ower’s (Mentioned pictures are accredited to SLisica08 here on the forum) own personal copy of the Don Post Pig mask that helped give me a better understanding of each detail there is throughout the mask’s sculpt. I still have TONS to do on the digital sculpture, but my intention is to make the 3D model as a 3D-printable file to transfer to an SLA HD Resin printer to make a silicone jacket mold and fiberglass mother mold to use a more beneficial and effectively longer-lasting casting material that is along the concept of Nick Mulpagano’s “Perma-Tex” casting medium for casting his ground-up sculpted replica Michael Myers masks. This was the latest video I posted in the R.P.F. The video of this sculpture was made with my Snipping Tool’s video feature and all the +/- mod-sculpting I did was done in Blender’s 3D modelling software. The video was taken before the gore was erased and smoothed over, feel free to leave comments on the progress for those who are new to this topic. More updates on the mask AND the rest of the costume will be given as the project is worked on. “But my question to you is will my finished mask be just as good as Don Post Studios’? You decide. Make your choice”.
