John Carl Buechler H6 mask

I was seeing if anyone new the reasoning for all the little bumps and indents on Buechler version of the shapes mask. Does anyone have a back story on this or heard him talk about the mask any? I saw an interview about his paint scheme but nothing on the sculpting process. I find that this mask is the most different in the serious because of all the wierd details to it. Even the ears are little different as well. Thanks!

It could be because of small bubbles or other imperfections inside his mold, but I really couldn’t say for sure. Do you happen to have any pics of what you’re talking about?

I found this pic. See how the lower left side of the mask has an indent and some bumps on the left side of the chin. If they are mistakes in the molding stage you’d think they would have fixed it before filming it. Thats why I was thinking that they may have wanted it like that for some artistic reason. Im not sure. Even when I was younger I always noticed it and wondered why they did that.

The mask was made using a lifecast of wilbur’s face/head and the sculptor had the H4 poster or novel as reference in front of him.
When you look at high res and behind the scene shots of the H1/2 hero, the mask has those bubbles and dents, pretty much in the same area.
I think the sculptor added what he saw in that certain pic(H4 poster/novel)

Thanks very much for the info.I guess the way he painted it made it more noticeable. Wish there were some behind the scene shots of them making it! Thanks again!
