Regal Cinema, 3 days only starting tomorrow. Who’s in?! I’ll be at the 1:00pm Friday afternoon. Probably alone lol. Then I’ll likly see it again over the weekend and maybe again on the last night, 10/13, where most theaters are showing 78 followed by Ends.
My local theater is showing HalloweeN from the 27th through the 31st. One showing per night. I’m going to bring my dad one night, my wife another night, and probably go by myself another night. I’m frikin’ pumped.
Hey same here! Marcus Theaters? My wife and I are planning on going on Halloween night. Not many trick or treaters these days, so figured that’d be a good way to spend the evening. There’s nothing quite like seeing the original in the theater!
I’m kind of hoping there is a big audience one of the nights I go. Would love to see either a bunch of OGs reliving their childhood, or a bunch of kids experiencing the film for the first time.
When I went several years ago it was mostly adults, but I can see more kids going these days because of the new trilogy being popular. Hopefully the movie gets some new fans! Marcus is doing some really cool stuff this month. Besides the retro series, they are showing a few Universal monster movie double features and some random older horror movies. We’re going to see Creature From the Black Lagoon and Phantom of the Opera. Also Bram Stoker’s Dracula for its 30th anniversary. Keep an eye out if you dig these!
I usually see movies in the afternoon, so I don’t normally get to experience a crowd. This is WHY I go in the afternoon, I guess lol. Not as much energy as going at night with an audience, but there’s also not as much popcorn crunching, bag rustling, talking and constant cell phone checking, either.
Just saw Trick r Treat with 2 other people (they weren’t with me) in the theater. Saw Smile yesterday with about 8 others. I dunno, like I said it’s a double-edged sword. Both scenarios have their benefits and annoyances, I suppose.
It was great! Haha! I actually noticed a few things I hadn’t before! There’s something really cool about seeing stuff you’ve seen 100 times in theaters. Not just the obvious benefits of sound and scope or the novelty, but the fact that when I put classics on at home, you’ve seen them sooooo many times, you don’t always pay attention to them as you don’t really need to. You end up eating, talking, doing dishes, playing on your phone ect. In the theater, however, you’re totally engaged and can’t do those things, ya know?
I think I wouldn’t mind seeing it in a packed theater. Like I said, I’m not really a fan of that, but last night I saw Terrifier 2 with about 20-30 people and I kinda did enjoy the “community” of it for lack of a better term and the groans some people made when Art was slaughtering people lol.
Same. I’m pretty excited for the crowd knowing that it’s not a lot of the typical movie goers that come for the new ones. I’m sure it will be super hyped with all of the fans there. Looking forward to it.
Awesome! Let us know how it went! I may see it again Monday at night in hopes of getting SOME form of a crowd. Maybe I’ll dress up and let folks take some pics afterwards if anyone asks. Could be fun!
Theater ovation at my screening. Only Halloween can do that after 40 years. I noticed one difference. The scene where he hits the brakes at “speed kills” the score no longer speeds up when he hits the brakes… interesting.
