Yep, THE ONE! I just had a question about this beauty. Is it truly from the same production run of Kirks that was used for Halloween 1978? I know that is has been said to be from the “movie mold”, but we all know that there was no specific mold made for the making of Halloween (1978). However, there was probably a batch of Kirk masks that was sent from DPS to retailers that contained the Hero mask from Halloween. Is Josh’s old kirk thought to be from that same batch, or is this just a rumor due to it’s accuracy?

Now, I would also like this to be a Kirk appreciation thread! Post any and all kirks! Original, reproductions, you name it! I will start by posting some pictures of Josh’s old one. Beautiful!!

Yeah more than likely from the same mold, it has the same mold defect in the mouthy corner like the Screen used. Also has everything else looking right about it too.

They have the same mouth defect? Do you happen to have a picture of the hero showing the same mouth defect? I have never noticed it if it’s there.

There’s a little pimple mark in the corner of the mouth. It’s hard to spot sometimes, but it’s really apparent in this pic from H2:

I did know it was called the herpes bump :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: I just never happened to see that on the hero mask. Very cool and hilarious! :laughing:

Gorgeous. I think what most people have trouble when they recreate the mask is the nose. Most of the noses are kinda pug like when as you can see from the original its kind of more pointer and shapely. Yes even on the 2k look carefully you’ll see the nose is not exactly like the original.

Most people seem to make the nose way too large compared to this kirk.
Even the Nag’s seem to have a jawline that’s way too wide, droopy.
Still a long way to go to capture this mask.
