Well, I watched the fan film from the Myers House NC website and I have to say, its the most professionally done fan film Ive seen.
I decided to post a review of it, because Ive watched it about ten times in a row and it totally deserves one.
Warning, if you havent seen it, beware of spoilers
Okay.
Here we go.
The opening shots really caught my attention because the atmosphere you were given didn’t even feel like the atmosphere of a Halloween movie.
Plus, the use of Don’t Talk (Put Your Head on my Shoulder) by the Beach Boys really added to the intensity because of the calming feel of a small, quiet mid-western town.
I don’t know what it is, but the use of classic songs really does set up for a good movie.
That whole sequence really projected the modern environment really well, with the teenagers horsing around, the townspeople getting ready for the holiday, and just the feel of a little happy community unaware of the horror that was going to happen.
I kind of felt sorry for the town of Haddonfield, cause it was just so calm and quiet.
I like the introduction of Darcy’s character and how she goes to the Myers house, talks briefly with Ms. Myers, and I kinda got freaked out when Judith mimicked the way Michael moved when she stepped from the doorway. That part was way too cool though.
The introduction of Judith, as I said kinda freaked me out and was cool at the same time.
Now the introduction of Michael, showing his room up in the attic where he moved a year ago, where we see all his disturbing drawing and writings on the wall, and his collection of masks, was how he SHOULD HAVE been introduced in the remake.
It was incredible how the intensity was built up with Judith voice over, and seeing only a glimpse of his Michael’s face at the end.
Very originally dealt with.
This scene was awesome because when Judith described how her relationship with Michael had grown apart, I really felt at this point that Michael was evil.
The way he just didnt talked to anyone, secluded himself from his mom and sister and went to live upstairs where he just draws and paints all day in that dimly lit room. You just knew that there was something wrong with Michael, ya know?
So…let’s go to the deaths.
The creepiest had to be Darcy’s death.
Her scream reminded me of Danielle Harris’ scream in H2, where you felt your heart drop when she screamed and cried.
Real creepy. And I like young Michael’s finishing touch with putting his signature mask over her head.
It was so well put together.
Judith’s was great too.
Just like the original. I liked it. Michael’s POV all the way up to the stabbing Judith, then going back downstairs.
The only thing I thought that this death was missing was the sound effects as Michael stabbed Judith.
It was kind of a weird feeling, seeing the stabbing, but not hearing it.
Would have been alot freakier with knife to flesh contact being heard.
When Michael gives out the candy at the end.
I was waiting for him to start stabbing some trick or treaters lol
But I like the way he was all calm, and just gave out the candy like it was nothing.
Funny how the parents didnt even see him set down the knife and realized that his mask was covered in blood.
I LOVED their original Halloween theme.
Very creepy!!!
The ending as Michael stood in the doorway, and we see his work and other things like Judith’s picture and his.
Really cool.
I liked this fan film from start to finish.
Give it a 10 out of 5!
Watch it on Kenny’s website right now.

Oh, and quick question.
Did anyone notice that the girl that played Darcy looked a hell of alot like Allison Mack from Smallville?
