Hey people! What was that page I’ve seen you link to where you could order those jungle boots?

here you go brother,

Was actually not that page I was thinking of. I didn’t know they had them.

Thank you Mike!

Thanks to you too. Wow that was certainly a difference in total amount.

just ordered some right now thanks to you mike

I ordered the Sears boots, they look great.

These boots are closer to the ones worn in H1. It’s the sole that’s different. If you want the ideal boot, get Jungle boots with VIBRAM soles.

So they aren’t the same boot? Do the ones in the first link have rougher soles? Is the leather shinier as well?

Thank you Jaws.

Not exactly. Similar, but, definitely different. The good thing is, is that you’re in the ball park, with the jungle boots. The Vibram sole has a closer gap space. If you want to be almost exact, below are the boots you want.

Okay. I want to see if we can find out which website it was, right now. I am quite sure it were the ones that you posted. It could be the manufacturers site.

check ebay, i see them on there from time to time.

Why would Michael Myers have worn military jungle boots in H1-H2??? What little you see of them in the movie look nothing like these boots. He stole them from a mechanic so would have been more like RedWing steel toed work boots don’t ya think??

Need another cap, Bogey? Watch more closely next time you watch H1. Mike has got it covered here

The olive drab nylon ankle support was exclusive to original issue Vietnam jungle boots from the late 60s throughout the early 70s. These boots as a whole have an extremely unique style & build altogether, they are unmistakeable for any other pairs of boots at that point in time.

From what I’ve read, Dick Warlock purchased a generic workwear pair of boots from Sears for H2 which, besides the color of stained black leather, are vastly different from the boots featured in H1.

Why would Tommy Lee Wallace (or the individual who actually provided the boots) buy original issue Vietnam jungle boots, you ask? In 1978, there must have been a ridiculous surplus of all types of Vietnam field gear & dress at dirt-cheap prices. There are still surplus stores trying to unload certain categories of Vietnam gear to this day. I own 6 pairs of original issue boots, each pair is built like a tank & will outlast most boots manufactured decades afterwards. On top of this, they are menacing in appearance, breathe easy in hot and/or wet climates with ventilation holes & have decent mobility thanks to the lightweight flush ankle & streamlined sole design; a perfect choice for TLW, whether or not he considered any of those aspects besides their probable super-cheap price at that time. One could even guess they were just donated to the set as they were pretty commonplace.

Many users have cracked jokes the “mechanic” was a Vietnam veteran. Works for me :stuck_out_tongue:

Well damn - you got me. I would have never guessed in a million years Myers boots were military issue. I guess you learn something every day lol!
:drinkers:

I didn’t find that site but the manufacturer must be Rothco.
Here are the black ones,

Another army navy page,
http://www.armynavysuperstores.com/importedboots.htm

I found them on Amazon a while back and saved the link,

Here they are even cheaper,
http://www.amazon.com/Rothco-Olive-Ultra-Force-Jungle/dp/B000GXIEN6/ref=pd_sbs_shoe_2

I’m going to get the black pair as well.

These are another boot by Rothco,

I need to get me a pair but don’t know what size. I heard go one size bigger and go one size smaller.

Yeah that I wonder as well. The one that Mike posted it says to order the size lower, and that they are meant to be worn with thick socks. On Ebay they say to order a size bigger.

Yeah I had found some exact but the soles had Huge tread soles not cool! I don,t see spending $100 bucks though either.

Could anybody fill us in here on the what size to choose thing? And I was thinking since some of the guys here recently also ordered some!
