Just watched Halloween 6...

It occured to me that I’ve seen every Halloween film except for the 6th installment, and I have to say… okay, I’m speechless. And that is not in a good way. Honestly, the director stretched “The Shape”'s meaning too far with the whole Thorn cult idea. I’d say the only originality this movie held was Donald Pleasence! It’s sad that they really dropped the ball on this film. However, even through the ridiculous plot, I like the design of the mask they used, much better than the grandpa look in H5. Anyone else agree or disagree?

Now I want to go out and buy a H6 mask for my new collection, off to the gallery. :axe:

i have to disagree, with full respect, i thought h6 was the best of all the sequals, it finally made Michael scary, i just dont feel fear in any of the other movies, but when i watch H6, its just creepy, and scary, lol, and i most certainly loved the mask, Just my opinion, take care, Z

Michael himself did have more character to him, which was great, but the way they presented the movie in general pushes my interest away.

The whole movie to me was a mess. The only thing I like is the mask, it’s grown on me.

I fully agree, finally someone who isn’t a snob about Halloween 6!

Same here. I watched H6 last night. I hadn’t seen it in years. I have to say I’m not thrilled with it. The story was a mess. I
thought it had a few interesting ideas like the “voice” telling him to kill etc. I appreciate the filmmakers intentions of trying
to give reason for Michael’s madness but it never amounted to anything.

There were a few creepy scenes near the end. Like the chase sequence for example. It was pretty intense but the ending was lacking.
Donald Pleasence was easily the best actor in the film although he obviously had very little to work with. The rest of the actors
were horrible and not the least bit convincing.

Once again I totally respect their intentions on expanding the mythology but it just didn’t work.

I have to disagree with you guys, because none of the sequels had Michael as “scary”…hell not even the original Castle/Wallace/Moran Michael is that scary anymore (to me)…this may just be me and the fact that nothing that can hurt me scares me anymore. My way of seeing it is like my way with ghosts and other “scary” things, Its mostly just the aesthetic outside ‘look’ of something that makes something scary (dont know why) and in the end that does nothing to us…I think deep inside what we should be afraid of with ghosts and other things is how they can hurt us physically and possibly mentally. (holy shit I went WAY off topic)

I do like the feel of the movie to some extent, but i just feel the characters were so BLAH that it didnt help, i didnt like the Thorn idea, though i give em credit for trying, I thought Wilbur was terrible as myers…the mask was decent and one of the better ones. I thought the “strode” family was just terriblely handled. Liek I said its an enjoyable watch, but i feel its over a bad movie with a decent budget…

exactly how i feel

Kara, the Father, the mother, the brother, the obnoxious son…

I am not a big “Rachel” fan but at least she was i dont know…a personality.

Kara’s father was just too much… He’d belong better in Rob’s Haddonfield.

he would have fit better, except that he is a TOTAL overractor…I have a tougher time watching the H6 breakfast scene than RZ1 because the H6 is just so poorly written…

“you and that little…bastard”

RZ H1’s breakfast scene was humorous.

I certainly would not say it is the worst sequel but it is not the best either. It is an enjoyable watch, and it gives off a good Halloween (the season) vibe! The mask however…is awesome!

i agree outbreak. overall i think its terrible.

I think that mask suffers from a tubby myers whos coveralls are too tight…
