Just Watched RZ H2....And I'm Sorry.

But I just watched RZ H2 last night and…What a freakin disappointment! I mean, It felt like the only reason Mr Zombie made this movie was to probably fulfill some obligations somewhere in some contract, I mean…Was I watching Halloween Pt 2 or Some new remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre? The overtone was completely TCM. And talk about going WAY off track from what John Carpenter & Debra Hill Envisioned, I’m not even gonna go there.

I’m sorry everyone, I know there are alot of you that thought this sequel was Da Sheet, And I completely, whole heartedly, 100% respect that, Everyone here is great, I guess after watching this latest installment, it just confirms I’m “Old School Michael”.

I MET ROB ZOMBIE AND TALKED WITH HIM BACKSTAGE @ A CONCERT IN PHILLY ABOUT H2, (PAYING A SHITLOAD OF MONEY TO SEE HIM I MAY ADD :smiling_imp: )AND HE SAID HE WAS RUSHED BY EVERYONE TO GET THE MOVIE OUT AND WASN’T VERY HAPPY HOW ALOT OF IT CAME OUT, HE HAD A DIFFERENT VISION THAT HE WANTED TO MAKE, BUT DIDN’T HAVE ENOUGH TIME SO HE DID WHAT HE DID, THAT’S BASICALLY I ALL I COULD GET OUTTA HIM, DIDN’T WANNA SOUND LIKE A LOONEY :laughing: HOPE I COULD HELP.

i think alot of folks who watch the remake and rz H2 go into it remembering and comparing them to 1978 Halloween and 1981 Halloween, if you watch the movies under that “old school” frame of mind you will hate them.
and i myself didnt get a TCM feel at all from this movie. now robs House of 1000 corpses and the devils rejects, they were both heavily TCM influenced all the way. i mean they actually were a family of murderers just like the hewitts.
but for RZ H2, michael is solo. his ghost mom and child self are around alot but they are in his head and doesnt kill anyone. michael doesnt eat or rape the bodies after he kills them. and the whole storyline was just completely different then any TCM ive ever seen. TCM movies always involve a family of murderers and always stay confined to a house for the most part. michael is solo and on a constant pilgrimage until haddonfield. i can understand someone not liking rz H2 i just dont see how some anyone could get TCM out of it.

I didn’t mean TCM as far as a story line of a crazy family who loves to torture & eat people…I meant in the way the Film itself was, as far as it being grainy looking, camara always on the move, Haddonfield appearing to be more Country than a quiet little Suburb Town, Michael clothes lookin all tatered up & not having the infamous coveralls. I believe the Halloween theme was only played like once or twice in the whole 2hrs it was on. Plus if you count Sheriff Brackett with his long stragally hair, his Daughter Annie & now Laurie living with them in some spray painted house in the Country, you can’t deny that doesn’t have an TCM overtone. Just those type of things is what I meant is all. And as far as his dead Mother a his little self are concerned…we all know Michael has heard voices since he was probably about 3 or so, Now we’re seeing the voices hes hearing? Plus, how can he be hearing his mothers voice? She was alive when he starting hearing the first set of voices…so now I’m to believe that the 1st set of voices are gone and are now replaced with his dead mothers voice and his little self? So what happen to the voices that started all the Mayhem?

Well its been stated that the whenever his mom says something its just showing what HE himself is thinking. Rob said he wanted to give him a bit of a voice in this film and hard to do it without him speaking…so he came up with the idea of giving us what goes on IN HIS HEAD

It was HIS VISION!!! It was not made to be like John made it!! Stop comparing the two!! If John and Deb would have never thought of making a Halloween and instead Rob made this on his own EVERYONE WOULD LOVE IT!!!

I also did not like the movie it sucked of how Laurie died and the white horse it just playing out dumb robs take on rz h1 was good but h2 no it was not as good as the originals at all i know it was a reimagining but but robs vision in h2 no he dosent even were his mask all the time only kills this is jusy my opinion take care, gavin

I agree, it didnt even feel like a halloween movie. It was self indulgent rubbish, it totally killed the Myers character IMO.


Some people just love it because it is new. but will hate it in a few years. Lets not forget that many Star Wars fans were talking themselves into believing that The Phatom Menace was awesome when that came out as well.
