Pretty simple answer for a simple question. If you watch Resurrection, after he kills Laurie (and has killed Jaime Loyd, even though this movie discredits H4-H6), he pretty much “goes home”. Just the fact that when he did go home he found a bunch of nosy people looking in his house.
Right on the money.
He goes home and eats rats. Also, he pays no mind when the dangertainment crew spends time in the house to set up all the props. He only gets mad when they bring in the internet…
And thanks to washed up rappers-turned-actors, seems he’ll have plenty of pickings to choose from for quite some time.
I believe a true Psycho-path would not be able to stop no matter if he had finished his family or not. Once he got the taste for killing it was just a part of who he was, and killing his family was just the start. A Psycho, after completing a mission, will continue on because he has no choice, it is just in his nature to continue killing. We are talking about a “Psycho” right? 
Actually, he wasn’t even there when they were setting up. He was off at the “hospital” trying to kill Laurie.

according to the thorn cult described in the producers cut of 6, it would be a lot like what dren said. furthermore, once michael has finished his work, the evil inside of him will be transfered into another family’s first born, 6 year old son.
he will then carry on the “tradition”. and so on, and so forth…
How imagine it going is that he suddenly takes off his mask and looks has if he’s just been possessed or coming out of a trance. and then he calls for his family, only to realize that he spend his whole life slaughtering them all.
I like to think he died at the end of H2 aswell,so that being the case he can’t do anything can he 
Considering that the family/Thorn plot was on featured in two of the now 10 movies, I barely ever acknowledge it. Even when thinking of the original plotline. To me, Michael will always just be some loon wearing a mask and looking to off some young teenage girls. You can take him a lot further with that simplistic analysis than you could with some Thorn curse that’s just going to get ridiculous, quick.
