KH/DW split face. Amazing!

Did this a few minutes ago. Blows my mind how accurate this mask can be when properly worn.

I’m reaching closer to that conclusion more and more every day. There are maybe a few features I would change but other than that this Mask is so crazy accurate now that I’m looking further into it and doing comparison photos.

The thing I realized pretty quickly once I had one in my possession was that it had all the subtle nuances of the hero. So that even if you took a mint 75 kirk and had Tommy Lee Wallace do the honors, you would not have the accuracies that Ken was able to obtain by having the Hero in his physical presence. So with a KHDW it really does come down to finishing. It literally can pull off every look of the Hero.

To me, this is where Kens talent really shines through. He didn’t even see the hero in person until after the mask was completed. All he had were the two Polaroid pics and some measurements form Dick.

And here’s what I don’t get- if the mask is SO accurate to the film (which it is) how come it’s not “Kirk accurate”? And speaking of Kirk accurate, what does that even really mean? Maybe it was Kirk accurate for the Kirk that they converted. Maybe that’s just what THAT particular Kirk looked like, ya know?

Pretty much this, yes. I believe seeing the hero in person at all helped him tremendously. And will on this new mask too. Also is the sculpt an H2 H1 or a combo, like the rare?

So in order for me to learn the skill to make that split picture, I’d have od’ed on getting it right. I had the side by side one, but You nailed it.

So in order for me to learn the skill to make that split picture, I’d have od’ed on getting it right. I had the side by side one, but You nailed it.

You’ve been right for years . I never bought into the hype, I never saw it as a super crazy accurate mask, but making these photos and seeing the results has changed my mind almost completely. Like I said there are a few things I would change to my liking- such as the nose or eyebrows. I prefer a less bulbous nose. To me, the nose on the HMK was just about perfect to the Hero. If we changed the nose and eyebrows on this mask to the ones from the HMK we would have a total winner in my book. Now do I think it’s the be-all end all H1/h2 Mask? Definitely not. But that’s just because there are so many scenes where the mask looks different that it would be impossible to do them all with one mask unless the wearer had it down to an exact science (as you and a select few others have so clearly managed to do). It just goes to show you that just because it doesn’t look super crazy accurate when it’s on a display head or it doesn’t look exactly like Josh or Forey’s Kirk doesn’t mean Shit . Great mask, great pics. . I have a picture saved somewhere of Joshs Kirk (believed to be within single digits of the hero pull) sitting next to a KH/DW. The similarities are striking and only a few things are off.

And as we were saying it is not just any 75 kirk, but the one and only. And it has always been thought Josh’s kirk was near in line to the hero in it’s production.
