KH / SLE's....... hair work for Colby (colbster)

Wow. Those eye cuts and the h2 hair is unbelievable.

These are amazing! Some of the best copies I have ever seen and the story is even better. Its nice to know Ken still has some what of an interest in Myers since it was hard for him to part with these  I just hope people will reveal which copies are recasts because these are few thousand dollar items we are talking about here. If any one accidentally buys a recast its on the people who know’s conscience

I don’t pop in as often as I used to with the addition of another member to the crew and work. I knew this thread was coming and will try to be around a bit if I can get any sleep . Ah yes, and SLE thread…woohoo (although I see there is a negative one too).

First off, major congrats Colby! I remember when you first scored them and how excited you were. I was living vicariously through you as I remember how I was a kid in a candy store when I scored mine. You are one lucky guy for sure and well deserved.

James, what can I say…you brought them to life with the mop, haha. Great work on the hair color, hair line, and eye rework. You are a master at your profession for sure.

I am honored to call both of you my good friends and enjoyed watching this project come to life.

I know it is still preference as this whole hobby is but having owned both an SLE and DW, the SLE is by far superior and you can see the huge difference in person, side by side.

About as great of a duo score as you can possibly get…GREAT! :open_mouth:

People can say whatever they want about the negative stuff that happened (like that doesn’t happen in almost EVERY mask) but the KH SLE is special. I’ve owned MANY “white masks” and this is a keeper. PERIOD!

True dat.

Despite the other thread and the filthy truth behind things in this hobby, James you did a fantastic job as always man. These are probably one of my favorite duos you’ve posted period. Colb congrats man very happy for you post lots of shots when they arrive and hold onto them tight!!

Thank you, benn7, Anthony, Paul (50-oNe-50), Kris, John, Leo, Caleb, Randall, Marcus, Matt L, Benny, and Jimmy. I really appreciate the comments! We are very lucky that JC is a part of this community.

I’m glad that some of you appreciated the story behind these masks. It’s just a shame that there have been forgery copies sold as the prototype or KH’s personal copy but I will leave all of the negative stuff in the other thread, I’m glad that the other thread was made so it will keep the negativity away from this one.

Don’t worry, I will not play as the gatekeeper to KH like AS has been for years as Kris has pointed out. KH is actually a cool guy to talk to. Hey, thanks for the great words about my character, Kris! I like to think of myself as an easy going guy.

Matt L, good to see you back on the board even though we talk almost everyday via email. Thanks for chiming in, my good friend! Many thanks to this great guy right here for permitting this project for me! I actually used to like the original KH/DW better but after talking with KH himself, he was surprised when I told him this as he thought the KH SLE was much better which is why he made it he said. After I got these copies in my hands, I wasn’t sure anymore! It’s cool to see your opinion as you have owned both, I haven’t seen an original KH/DW in person so who am I to say which one is better in my opinion.

Again, many thanks to all of you guys who chimed in to comment on my scores, I really appreciate that. I will post some outside shots when they arrive along with another score that I recently got as well.

Great job on the hair, James!

I agree as many have said about Colby, he is a great dude. Huge congrats, man! You deserve 'em. :drinkers:

Mark

Colby, consider yourself lucky my friend. Those are truly wicked. Congrats my friend. :drinkers:

Congrats Colby, they look great!!! Don’t ever let them go!

^^What he said. Although, I am crossing my fingers that you need some quick scrilla one day, and you decide to sell that H2…to me. Kidding dude. These are keepers forever. Congrats, and great work James.

Steven

Yes I these are keepers! Trust me!

I apologize for being late to the party… we’re still in sunny (and I do mean “sunny”) Daytona Beach on vacation, but I wanted to hop in here. Thanks for all the cool comments everyone, and thank you Colby for the history on these two. I really don’t ever see you letting these 2 go… they are special pieces for sure! Glad you like them dude, and thanks again for everything!

JC

Glad these went to one the best dudes in the hobby :sunglasses: :sunglasses:
You earned it buddy :drinkers:
KH+JC=

Thank you for the comment, Mark, Hugo (Juicemaster310), Hugo (MacLeod), Steven, clach37, James, and Kaizu. I really appreciate them. Mark, you are a great dude yourself as well!

I definitely don’t see myself letting them go soon, I will enjoy them very much! Steven, you never know.
I’m glad that you guys like them, I’m very proud to own them. No problem, James, thank you for everything as well and I hope you are having or had a great time down there! Thank you, K-Man, you are one of the best for sure! :drinkers:

Well, I got the masks in on Wednesday and I love them! Not only they were haired professionally, they were neatly wrapped and packaged professionally. I had not had a chance to take a pic because I couldn’t get myself alone until now. Unfortunately, my collection is not set up as I have been moving around a lot so they are all on the table, floor, and in boxes. I will be moving again soon… UGH! I took some quick pics straight from my iPhone5, I have not gotten a great-quality camera yet which I have been meaning to.

Oh what a set.

I also got an early copy of H4 S.P. (2010) that I got from Benny (Michaelantern) who is a great guy to deal with and talk to. I did not want to create a new thread and take up space so I thought I would share it here. I did find out from Paul (Crofader) that it was a full recast of Paul’s screen-used H4 mask with a bald cap covering its hair. Scott did a great job with details on this one, it has eye meshes and the earholes are punched much like the actual H4 mask which is a small detail that some mask-makers overlook. Not only it looks great but it also has a great story behind its origin. I wasn’t even a big fan of H4 but the H4 mask certainly has grown on me. The new one sure looks great as well, much more smoother.

I will take some outside shots of the KH SLEs tomorrow. Thanks again, everyone!

Excellent!!! :sunglasses:

Colby, i may not be a massive fan of the KH in general but i would be proud to own that H2 version man, looks great, and the matted hair really sets it off, also, not had much to do with H4 masks ever since i sold off my NAG H488 but that copy of the SP/H4 you have there just ignited a spark in me, if i was ever to grab another H4 that would be it, the right profile angle shot did it for me.

Thanks, Hugo! I’m glad that a huge fan and expert of KH’s masks like yourself digs them, I’m glad to call you my new friend.

Anthony, I’m glad that you really dig the H2 version! KH’s paintwork on that copy is unreal like you can see. JC’s expertise in hair work does really set it off, I’m proud to own this amazing combination of KH and JC’s talents. I’m glad that you dig the SP/H4! I always thought that if I was ever to get a H4 mask, this would be it but I just never did until Benny sent me an offer that involved it, I knew that I had made the right decision when I pulled it out of the box. It sure did ignite a spark in me, glad to see that it had done the same for you, buddy.

Here’s some outside shots I took recently, enjoy and this probably will be the last time I post a pic until I get a decent camera. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks again, everyone.

NOT fair at all… Pouts and kicks gravel… VERY nice shots!

Likewise brother!!! Insane shots. It just doesn’t.get any better than that. That’s one of the things I love about KH masks, they look great under every type of lighting and they’re so rich in detail. Those pics are perfect, you don’t need a new camera bro lol. :sunglasses:
