Krueger takes a detour to Santa Mira!

I just spent the whole week in the Redwoods of Northern California and on the way back down to San Francisco, I decided to make a small 1 mile detour out of my way. I stopped in Loleta to visit the (now abandoned) factory that served as the Silver Shamrock Novelties factory in Season of the Witch and snapped some pics while I was there.

Awesome pics, Davy. I’ve always seen pics of people stopping by places from films/TV, but have never done it myself. I’ve driven through areas of Texas that felt and looked like they would’ve belonged in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre or House of a 1000 Corpses.

Thanks for sharing man!

Awesome Davy! That’s the place man! Thanks for sharing

Awesome view :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Absolutely, entirely too cool.I would love to visit this area some day.I am green with envy

Great pics and thanks a lot for sharing.

It was a cheese factory. Due to that filming inside with smoke and what not was done in a studio. The owners now use it for storage (trash) and frankly abandoned it pretty much. I know some rich members (fans of H3) could buy it and re do it!!!

Indeed. They moved across the street. The whole street stinks of curdling milk, hence why I only snapped a few pics. I’d have liked to have gotten a few more pics just east of the the buildings (closer to the train tracks), but it’s Fathers Day Weekend and the traffic seemed a bit heavy.

Did the whole town stare at you as you rolled through?

If I stood in the middle of the street snapping pictures at an abandoned factory for any longer they might have.

Tom when I asked about the town he said it was very weird even before the movie and people were creepy. He says it still is from what friends have told him. I hope to visit one day. :drinkers: :drinkers:

You’re in my neck of the woods. I currently live close to San Francisco. Those are killer pictures. So dang cool. Perfect little town and buildings for a fan made horror film. :drinkers:

I don’t think the Shamrock building was ever a cheese factory. The Loleta cheese factory has always been in the little brown building across the street. The Shamrock building was a milk plant at one time.

I also noticed in that last picture you posted you can see that the upper floor collapsed. That building is dead, I don’t think it can be restored at this point.
