Are their any larger masks than the tots h40 being made or are their any plans for them? My 24.5 inch mammoth of a head just wouldn’t fit the h40 from what I hear the h40 from tots is their smallest myers mask to date.
It’s definitely not their smallest. Their old original run Elrod and their old original run Tramer was the smallest they had made. More recently their H4 is smaller than their H40.
However with that said, as more runs of those masks make the rounds they seem to get slightly bigger than the initial runs. I doubt it’s going to make the mask fit you any better because it’s not really a drastic difference, but they have definitely had smaller than the H40.
I would just keep checking back here to see if anyone says anything about the more recent H40s size getting any bigger. For example, their Elrod mask which was incredibly small, is now much larger than it started out. Of course they have changed it to what is now known as the Boogeyman mask, but it was that larger size before the change. And it’s quite the size difference compared to the original first runs.
So I would just keep an eye and ear on it and see if you see anyone mention the H40 being a bigger size. I have two first run H40s, and this year I’m going to see what the ones at the local Halloween shop look like in comparison. If I notice any sort of major difference I will keep you posted.
I fit the H40, but it’s a snug fit. Mind you I have a 24" head, so it’s right on the brink of being uncomfortable. But it’s wearable for me. So I can see why it would be rough for you.
As for any of their masks other than the H40 being larger, their H2, the Boogeyman and the H78 are all much larger than the H40.
Thank you, I guess independent mask makers arent wanting to sculpt their own H40s as I have heard the tots h40 was taken from the master mould used in the film and is close as you can get in terms of accuracy most likely?
I will keep checking in on the matter and doing my research.
I own a tots 78 and its a good fit, not too loose on me and was searching for anyone sculpting a larger h40 similar in size.
Yeah the TOTS H40 is the most accurate your going to get as it is directly from the molds used for the film. So it won’t get much better than that. Justin Mabry, the art director for TOTS is the one who sculpted the mask along with Christopher Nelson, who also is now affiliated with TOTS. So they had direct access to that mold and is what they used for their mass produced versions. Probably the first time in history where we actually got the exact sculpt used in a film, as far as Myers masks are concerned.
But yeah I will keep an eye out for how the newer batches of those masks turn out, and if I notice a significant difference in size I will let you know. It’s very possible. But I also know they are big fans of keeping it as close to the original as possible, so it may not differ much as we go forward. We shall see.
you’ll never truly get a mask directly from the same EXACT movie mold but rather masters which create new molds, Which are derived from screen used pieces as it would be somewhat impossible to have one movie mold for thousands of masks being made and would definitely destroy and fade the original movie mold which i highly doubt they did. So it has movie mold lineage for sure…But not THE exact mold used for the movie masks…
Ha yeah it was like a public service announcement commercial that ran back in the late 80’s through the 90’s on NBC. It would be a quick message about something off the wall and then it would say “the more you know” and a star logo would roll across the screen. Lol. The good old days
As others have said, the H40’s tend to be on the smaller side. However there is some size (and quality) variances out there. I’m a 24" and have found several that fit me better than others (and still have good to great detail). They’re out there.
The chinese mask that has green leds is bigger than tots, You could find second hand A dont Post H40
theres an indy sculpt by pilcrows monster shop its close to 25"
