Laurie Strode 1978 outfit - jeans or blue trousers?

Although I generally prefer cosplaying as Michael Myers (or Jason Voorhees) I’m working on a Laurie Strode costume too. My boyfriend, who is also into horror and cosplay, thought it might be fun to do some photos and/or videos recreating scenes from Halloween 1978. And being a woman, I would probably make a more accurate looking Laurie than he would.

I found a blue shirt that I think looks similar to the one Laurie wears during the second half of the movie (it’s at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KJX2JLV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00 in case you are interested) but I’m not sure about the pants. Of course, they are flared and high-waisted, but I can’t tell if they are actually jeans or just blue trousers. I reviewed the daytime scenes where she has on this outfit, but it’s hard to tell. Any thoughts? I know it’s not a big deal whether I’m totally accurate, but I want to at least give it a try.

I had some blue flared pants at home already, because I saved some of my 90s/00s pants in the hopes that they will eventually come back in style. But, curses, the waist was too low.

Edited to add: Just wanted to mention, I ordered a second blue shirt, just to compare which one looked better in person. I haven’t received it yet, but it’s here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014W1B7EU/

Great idea. I’ve seen a few women dressed like this and it looks awesome. I’m not sure if it’s blue jeans or trousers she wears in the movie. But I think for cosplay they women have been wearing jeans.

You know what would be cool, someone doing this costume for cosplay. I’ve never seen anyone do it yet.

Agree, that would be cool :myers:

Those aren’t jeans she’s wearing in the evening.

I always thought they looked like a standard dark blue “bell bottom” pant, not jeans. I never noticed any “speckling” in her pants, as they appear to be very solid in color, therefore I’m assuming they’re not jeans.

This. They were just navy bell bottoms. Nothing special.
