I started planning to make tradewear at the end of 2024. Back then, a friend of mine had a piece of Sears tradewear. After borrowing that coverall from him, I spent 3 months creating a replica that wasn’t very perfect—this was because its fabric and color didn’t match the original tradewear at all. So, over the next six months, I focused on finding vintage workwear fabric in the same color as the tradewear, and finally found a small but seemingly sufficient stock. Later, I also sourced the same buttons that Sears used, and that’s when I truly kicked off my tradewear replication project.
When it came to packaging, I initially planned to just make a batch of small hang tags to tuck into the buttonholes. But I felt this would be too perfunctory for my customers, so I modeled the packaging after the vintage coverall packaging from that era and created my own set of packaging.
