Sunday, June 22, 2025 - A productive morning! I finished my project and love the results. I revamped the finish, fine-tuned the eye-cuts, and added vibrant dye to the hair. The mask looks stunning and photographs beautifully!

That’s a beautiful copy. I also own an Ultimate Nightmare and I must say, it’s one of most versatile masks I’ve ever seen. Definitely near the top. It pulls off so many looks its insane. But for right now, my NAG/JC 98 Proto is probably my favorite in my collection.

Yeah the ultimate nightmare is crazy good imo. I second the 98…thats prob my second fav mask and that copy of yours is a beauty. Great stuff

You should post some more of your 98 and your nightmare…these ultimate nightmares don’t get enough love and they are imho a massive game changer
Will certainly do! The Proto just came in from JC fairly recently and I haven’t had an opportunity to take many pictures yet due to my work schedule. I used to post here almost daily just over a decade ago but then got married/ had kids…life happens fast lol.
Nice to see some familiar names lurking here still. Anyhow, the Ultimate Nightmare definitely seems to not get the love it deserves. I’ll probably have JC convert one of these soon, but not till after my 75K Old Mold H2 is complete.
Here’s a few of the Ultimate Nightmare, I’ll take more pics of the Proto when I have some free time. Most of these shots are from Nik except the last few.

That is beautiful…the hair on that beast is so vintage looking.
Nik has really done something special with these, I mean I always liked the nightmare but there were just nuances missing from the hero mask and I think that is what Nik has incorporated into the ultimate. Look forward to seeing the proto! Great mask my friend
Gotta also add that Niks finishing is really hitting the mark recently…thats a real nice finish.

…gotta also say great choice for the H2, the old mold 75k especially with james magic make a fantastic sequel mask which imo is one of the best canvases for H2.

Thanks my friend. I believe it was your copy that got me really wanting one of these. This was a mask Nik had already finished, not per my request, so when I saw it and was available for purchase, I was very impressed. I personally would have wanted a little less flesh and maybe more of a brown, but I agree, Nik’s finishing has gotten better and better and I have no complaints. We all have to remember, the Hero was literally spray painted with a can lol. I do prefer tighter eye cuts, and that’s where JC’s magic happens.
You have an amazing copy, probably my favorite from any of the ones that JC has done H1 style. Keep the pictures coming of this beast of a mask.

Not sure if you remember Jon Dano’s 75K H2 that JC did up over a decade ago. I owned that copy for a few years but sold it right before my wedding back around 2013. Til this day, I still regret letting that one go. IMO, the old mold 75K makes one of the best H2, if not the best period. I asked James to replicate that copy and I have no doubt my latest 75K old mold will turn out great!!

I remember Dano’s copy…that was a beast! My old H2 was owned by old member Jon xpsycopath…I watched that beauty for ages from afar until I was lucky enough to land it!
Why I sold it…I shall never know, miss that badboy but look forward to seeing yours.

Oof this is a hard one. So many great choices. For H1, mine would be:
#1 DB2
#2 98 Proto
#3 Ultimate Nightmare (JC conversion)
Others I could include:
SC75
4 Stamp NMM78
If I left out a mask, it doesn’t mean it’s not worthy. Just that MY top 3 is very limited to choose from.
